The red brindle Magyar Agar has caught several jack rabbits, both desert jacks and norther California jacks.

I knew Gil would win! Deerhound hyrbids are good on our upland bogs and mountain hills for hare and (historically) deer. It would probably catch the hare in a place like that and Gil would not. Agar is in its element on a smooth grassy flat plain like what you raced on.

people should do straight tracks more often like that. not all the time, not most of the time, but MORE OFTEN. it has its advantages.

This is a really old video. My Magyar Agar must have just been barely a yearling when it was taken. He's 6 years old now and has run jack rabbits every year since then. He's not the fastest dog out there, but he has averaged about 2 kills per season and I don't run him as often as most people run their dogs.

Nice vid but both were very slow, neither could catch anything at their weights, all good fun for the dogs anyway, sorry if I offend anyone but its the truth

Just read the other comments, again not trying to be nasty but a hare wouldn't break a sweat running against these, take them out and build real speed and stamina against real quarry. Good luck!!!

I say what you just type to the Brits all the time. Here in Arizona, where we have ANTELOPE JACKRABBIT, a sighthound would really be tested. They can hold 40 miles an hour EASY so not just any runner would get these hares.
