@@srt-fw8nh, in my opinion, there are several moves that would be better - on Bd3 it is, on some level focused on the typical f5 push by black. Also, it does hit the c4-a6 diagonal which is not the most useful because most moves will focus on the kingside. on Bd3, that bishop is mainly functioning as a pawn. if it were me playing, I would've considered Be2 or g3 Bg2- this allows the potential at some point to go on the kingside and prepare for black's light-side bishop to go Bg4 and pin the knight. With the bishop on e2, that pin lacks sting. Finally, consider how MC played in this game. That bishop was almost completely worthless on d3 and didn't even really participate in the defense until much too late. disclaimer - I am around 2150-2300 on lichess depending on how focused I am on my games/well-rested.

Not really tbh. I'm probably around 1200-1300 rated, so lightyears away from Magnus. But I'm 99.99% sure that I will be able to defend myself for just 10 moves. Playing 10 good moves isn't hard. 20-30 is another story. I think it's really hard even for someone like Magnus to checkmate someone that has a basic understanding of chess in only 10 moves.

It's great when you're world champion and have no reason to be humble - you are the best there is, and still you have a sense of humour and can be humble. He lets the game do his talking for him and is nice socially. I know there have been times when he's been a bit snappy with the press, but no-one gets hurt. The press are used to it and sometimes provoke it.
It must be Hikaru

I know more about Jiu Jitsu than Chess but the one similarity I can see with it is that the true greats win with patience, accuracy and comfortability. Meaning, they are not anxious waiting in temporarily stalled positions, as well as the ability to move quickly without mistakes. I'm pretty novice at chess but Magnus reminds me of a guy called Roger Gracie who was a jiujitsu champion and was famous for his patient, slow build style and strong fundamental game. He is considered the best competitive jiu jitsu player ever, and it was all due to calm patience, fundamentals and accuracy.
