Magnus Carlsen pulls out of Superunited Rapid and Blitz due to urgent Family Matters

The superunited Rapid and Blitz 2024 are going to be held in Zagreb from 10th to 14th July. The field was star studded with the World Championship Challenger Gukesh, Vidit Gujrathi, Anish Giri taking on Carlsen, Caruana, Nepo and other top players. However, just 2 days before the event is to begin Magnus Carlsen has pulled out off the event citing urgent family matters.

No. For example it's unlikely Gukesh will be part of the team as it would interfere with his world championship prep even though he is undoubtedly one of the strongest GMs
