Does the sim card on the TKStar needs a some sort of load or monthly plan on the sim card for it to work? And wonder if it will work with other sim card. Like sim cards in the philippines?

Good video. However, setup looks a little complicated; to the point where it actually outlasted the background music. Would like to see it actually tracking in real time.

John Smith Hello, did you ever figure it out? This video is not that helpful. What is he logging onto in the beginning? I am frustrated with mine and had to send for an activated sim card which I am waiting for. I am about to give up on this tracker but I hear it has good reviews. Please help. Seems like we need US instructions on this. Step by step starting on what you need and how to activate as well as which gsm sim card to purchase for this device.

I can’t get mine to work online, it says it’s offline, sms works good? But I can’t log online to see it on my app or computer, it doesn’t recognize it, I type in the number and won’t take the info although it lets me log on, please help ! I just recently bought it it’s new

I have 2 TK Star trackers. They were great while the 1 year web site map tracking subscription lasted. When it expired I tried to renew, but couldn't even get a single reply. I sent several emails (email address was also difficult to find) but they apparently aren't interested in supporting their customers once they've got their money. I guess they expect us to fork out for a new unit every year and throw out the old one, cos the web tracking is what makes it of any use.

I have done each step but I do not receive any SMS from the chip inside the GPS. The number to which I sent the SMS is correct. Any idea why it's not working for me? The blue led keeps flashing while the yellow led stays fixed.

What sim card and service are you using?

My TK Star tracker always appears as "logged off", thus never available on the mobile phone APP. Any idea how to fix this? Please note that it DOES send me coordinate when prompted via texting, but it never shows up on the APP. THANK YOU!!!!!!

Hello, the instructions are very helpful. I did all the steps correctly, it showed that it works, but after a few hours it said at the top screen of the app "100% offline battery". Do you know what it means to have a "100% offline battery" if a sim card was normally inserted and the blue light was normally on, at least on the beginning?

Can these mount to underneath a vehicle? Also can you make it automatically send texts messages every 30 seconds with the gps coordinates for long term tracking? Answer quick and I'll buy.

Yes, it can be mounted to vehicle with strong magnetic built-in. You can set alert time according to your needs.

My 4G sim chip works in 2G 3G and 4G GSM network. Actually this tracker works in 2G GSM network only.

That means that your sim card is not read by the device, check the sim card if it supports 2G network and GPRS.

Hello, The device was working for 2 days and after that, if I m calling the device or texting G123456# is shows me a place in America and if I m pressing on the map google map opens and says no results. Les comento mi experiencia, después de unas semanas de uso, después de que lo configure, si me llegaban las alertas por sms cuando el carro se movía o había alguna vibración fuerte en el auto, ahora no sé qué pasó, que ya no me llegan las alertas y si no nuevo el auto en un lapso de unas horas se desactiva solo el GPS, tengo mandar de nuevo los mensajes sms de configuración para iniciarlo de nuevo, es tedioso, lo reseteare y después les comento si funcionó

Here is the Quick-use step, sincerely hope it can help you. 1) Please prepare a STANDARD-SIZE sim card that can work on a 2G Network for this GPS tracker. top-up SMS fee and data fee for it, Make sure you are able to call, text, and surf the internet using this sim card. We recommend sim cards such as Vodafone, Tesco, EE, 02, Lebara, giffgaff sim cards for European Clients. Please cancel (turn off ) the pin code for the sim card. 2) SMS Tracking ~ please note sets an admin number it does not the first step, you should test the SMS tracking and APP tracking function firstly. it's better if you can take the tracker outdoor to finish the first testing. after Setting up the sim and insert it into the tracker in the right way, please calling or text a locate command g123456# to the contact number in the tracker. if all good, you will get a location message. that is what we said SMS tracking. 3) APP Tracking ~ If you can receive location messages after calling the tracker, then it means you are now ready to use our App. 2-steps: (1)open the GPRS service by texting command gprs123456 to GPS tracker (2)set the right APN to activate APP (3)please note after setting the right APN, you have to restart the tracker by taking the sim card out and reinsert it, then all working well and you can use other functions on the APP. Looks utterly useless: When your car just got stolen, you will probably be in a state of panic and shock, mad, depressed and worried to lose your job (as these days employer does not give a fart if you are late due to stolen car). So, how is a normal human being able to press in several commands, wait for OK signs, and then dial numbers and what not.... You need to make a product where you open an APP and press "TRACK" and then you see your car's location on google maps and can pass that info to the cops. All other devices are useless.

Only need to put one command easy to remember. G123456# OR simply dial sim number in both case you will get the location if App is configured properly only need to open app to see the location of your vehicle that has GPS

what's your purpose to communicate with this device over the internet? for tracking ?

Yes. I know i can send SMS to gps device and get SMS response with coordinates, but i was wondering if i can send maybe an HTTP request to device instead of SMS, and communicate over the internet (like TCP). Also, is there any way i can make the device send GPS coordinates to my own server? I understand it sends coordinates to tkstar server, and i can view them on their website or mobile app, but can i make the device send data to my server? Thanks you, Ron Teller

Please check your sim card if it supports 2G and GPRS network. It's very important.

唐君甫 ya no existe tarjeta sim 2G, solo 4G en Chile.

If the 4G sim card supports 2G network, it's also ok.

Como obtengo el IMEI de 16 digitos?? El ID no igual al IMEI. Necesito el IMEI para homologar el dispositivo. Soy de Chile.

Call the sim number in device, then you'll find IMEI number from the replied message.

from Belgium, Can you please help me. I have put in the sim-card wich is an 4G/2G/3G. I get any of information back if I send an sms. The tracker doesn't answer... What can I do?

I see, I see the old story. They provide you with a sim cars so that you have to register with a monthly fee and then pay monthly, even when you don't use it for some weeks? Clever way of ripping customers off, yes, eh? The registration of SIM should be free, which means pay for the monthly subscription for running the mobile phone, then pay subscription for the GPS tracker, =? a fortune, I'd say. Too many rip-offs.
