Good job utilizing the machine you have. I've been around heavy equipment all my life, and work for one of the largest equipment manufacturers. A lot of these negative comments are coming from people who clearly have not been in the industry or have experience with equipment. Looks to me like he has the equipment he is comfortable using, can afford, and probably has the means to transport. It also needs mentioning he hasn't busted a sewer or water line and hasn't cracked the foundation of his home which could easily happen with larger equipment. While it looks like it's well taken care of, it is an older magnatrac so I'm pretty certain he doesn't have the price of a new one invested. All in all disregard the negative comments looks like you're having fun.

Was the large Mfr Tonka? Ertle?

That one had a decent set of tracks and pads. The new ones are dinky and aren't wide to even start to hold up the machine in a soft place. And the Kohler is probably a cast iron 301 and 12 horses. Plenty for that rig. GOOD show!

Im very impressed. My garden tractor would crap its pants trying to do that work lol

I was thinking this thing would be nothing more than a joke. This guy did a lot of work that would have been no fun with a shovel, and he didn't even break a sweat. I looks like it would be good for someone to keep around the lake house, but no plan on doing any extensive excavating.

I worked with a crew on lease sites with one of these last summer. We flew it to the sites by helicopter. I was quite impressed with what it could do on five or ten horsepower.

Does anyone happen to know the year and model of this magnatrac? It looks alot more solid built and useful than the new model

You can buy a nice used skid steer for what they want for they’s toys. And move some dirt fast, and has lots of other uses

Ron Bell yes you can, a small tire machine skid steer from the 80s would out work this toy! And be bought for 6 grand or less have a 4500 dollar case skid steer that been going strong for 6 years and it’s a 82 model

@@morehp1 , well I will be finding out. I will probably post a vid in the future if all goes well. I take your point pretty well, where I will be working is pretty steep, so I definitely wanted a tracked machine. Also, clearance can be problematic. So, I see how it goes. Hopefully you are not all right, and I end up being just an "old fool". We'll see!

I like watching but never seen one do anything beyond leaves/ loamy compost.

That thing has some power for a little tractor/mini dozer!

It is cute and interesting, but for the same money a tractor with a frontloader will do a lot more a lot faster. These just don't have ghe weight or HP required. Now if space is terribly tight, maybe but if its that small use a rake

If you ever break a trac go to a farming supply. All they are is feed chains from a manure spreader

you should go buy a cutting rdge for it, it would keep you fromm bending the blade, but great video, those little tractor are worth their weight in gold

Mini Dozers are the "Lawn Tractor" of excavating. Tiny & limited but capable none-the-less

It was old compost. Thats usually what is under old leaves. See how black it is like farm topsoil. Gardeners would kill for that but the machine would struggle to take it or load it.

Based on a single experience? I never seen a track come off this particular tractor so based on this single experience I think they're all great.

I built mine for 3k, and I know it would out perform this little unit.
