Magimix 3200 Unboxing, Review & Demonstration

Unboxing and Reviewing my Magimix 3200 Compact food processor, see all the good features and the not so good. In this video I demonstrate just how quickly the Magimix slices a carrot, chops an onion, and makes homemade Mayonnaise, using a recipe from the book that is supplied with the machine.
This is my own unbiased opinion of a well made piece of kitchen equipment that saves time and effort.

    I just found this model MagiMix with all the accessories on someone's hard rubbish collection all wrapped up nicely with a note saying it's in perfect working order. Hi there, I've never tried to grind coffee with my Magimix as I have a machine that grinds the coffee beans and then brews an espresso. The Magimix would NOT produce a fine enough grind for espresso, however it may produce a course grind for brewing in a french press, or other filter methods. I hope this answers your question, thanks for your comment.

  • @WillyFilmit

    @WillyFilmit

    6 ай бұрын

    Hi Julie, thank you for your comment, to be honest I've never made a smoothie, they're just not my thing. I do use the Magimix to make soup, however the veg are usually cooked and once blended there is some texture, it would have to go through a fine sieve to get it really smooth, same with iced coffee which I make in the summer, it turns the ice cubes into a thick mush and the drink is just the same as a high street coffee shop. Once again thanks for watching my video.

    I have yet to make granita, however I don't see any reason why it shouldn't, one of the recipes in the book that came with the machine, coffee milk shake, calls for 5 ice cubes to be blended. Many smoothies are better made with frozen fruit, initially pulsed to break it down before going on to blend.

    The old 3200 XL has just been given a new model number and called the compact 3200 XL, as you say the difference seems to be two more disks, a wider chute and a wider choice of colours for around another £40. I'm still wondering if this would be too big as like you I have a proper stand mixer which is great for larger quantities and I want something that will do small quantities say 2 egg whites for a meringue, the mini plus probably fits that bill but would it be too small. Hopefully shops open soon so I can see in the flesh.

    Many thanks for your comment, so whats in a name, my Magimix does not have the XL lid which to me is not a problem, it came with two discs I purchased a third which fills the accessory box. • @WillyFilmit

    @WillyFilmit

    Hi Lisbeth, many thanks for your comment, I haven't processed chick peas or anything similar. Magimix recommends in the main bowl one third full for liquid, and two thirds for other foods, which is about four portions. I have on one occasion over filled with liquid by mistake, it makes one hell of a mess. Maximum processing capacities in the instruction book are, soup one litre, minced meat 0.75 kg, carrots 0.8 kg. I do hope this information is of use to you, and once again thanks for watching my videos.

Firstly the lid on the does not click into position easily like it appears to do on your processor and I am concerned it is faulty. I would like to be able to chop veg in the processor so can I buy an extra blade to do this?

  • @WillyFilmit

    @WillyFilmit

    3 жыл бұрын

    I believe the lid can be a little stiff some times, on my machine its not, just a positive click. Chopping veg can be done in the small bowl which has its own blade, or in the main bowl using the main blade, depending on quantity. Always use the pulse button, half or quarter the veg depending on size, keep your eye on it as it is easy to chop too finely. I think there is an accessory available to dice veg.

If it could live on the worktop it would be used much more, however our kitchen is quite small and it has to be stored in a cupboard, there are times when it is quicker to get a knife from the drawer than it is to get the Magimix out and set it up just to slice two carrots, which it would do in seconds. Indeed a valid point, however the machine comes into it's own when slicing potatoes into 2mm thick slices, for Pommes Dauphinois, or Homemade Potato Crisps, my knife skills just ain't up to that. It is really the versatility of tasks it performs that make a food processor worthwhile, over the past few weeks, I've used it for making Bread, Cakes, Soup, Potato Crisps, Mayonnaise, and Barbecue Sauce, but when it comes to slicing just a couple of carrots I'd probably go for a Knife.

    Hi there, I have used my Magimix to chop nuts, fresh herbs, and raw mushrooms, all of which it did very well, I have also ground coffee beans, providing you don't want a very fine grind for espresso, it did an ok job. I do hope this answers your question, many thanks for your comment and watching my video.

    Hi, magimix 3200 or 5200? What's the difference? I'm single, is too big the 5200?

    Hi Rossella, thank you for your comment, the difference between 3200, and the 5200, is size the 5200 has larger bowls, more powerful motor, and is more expensive, and suited to a larger family. For example the 3200 will process 0.6kg of bread dough, the 5200 will process 1.2kg.The 3200 should be adequate for you, if you do a lot of slicing and grating go for the XL model it has a larger feed tube.

    @@WillyFilmit Hi Willy thank you very much for your advise. I'll go for the 3200...:-) because I'm an absolute beginner in cuisine ;)

    @@WillyFilmit I confirm Magimix has been manufacturing its products in France in Burgundy since 1971. France still has a large manufacture in the household robot and manufactures many quality products such as moulinex, Tefal, Krups, Thermomix de Worverk and Magimix robots ...

    Very quickly, if you don't keep your eye on it you can end up with butter.
