I second this. Torque sensor gives you not only better feel and more opportunity to exercise (max assist requires only a little effort with a motor as strong as this one), but much better control of the bike. With a cadence sensor, especially ones with speed-setting PAS versus current/power, the huge surge of power through a high-torque motor can make controlling the bike difficult, even making you fall (I did twice before I adjusted the speed targets for PAS 1 and 2 very low, and that bike has only a 48V motor with a peak torque of 85Nm, not 100Nm like this new Ocelot). For high torque motors, a torque sensor system gives you much better control. Once you get up to speed, you can switch over to cadence sensor mode. That brings up this question: what style of PAS does this bike use when in cadence sensor mode? Does each PAS level set a speed target (and surgey arbitrary power curve) or an amount of current/power sent to the motor?

Magicycle has always produced high quality products. This new Ocelot Pro 2.0 is no different with the switch to and from torque to cadence sensor whenever you want. It's a great unique feature. Looking forward to more updates from Magicycle.

Can you mount a bottle holder to the front rack mount holes (assuming you don’t have the front rack)…? I wondered if the screws would align. Been meaning to get a holder and try it but currently I just bungee the bottle to the rear rack.

Russ just a question about the amount of noise generated from a typical e-bike. Have you found that most e-bikes w/a belt drive are much quieter than chain driven bikes? Are e-bikes with a rear drive motors always louder than mid-drive bikes? Tires and tread. It seems the greater the nobbies or more aggressive the tread the louder tire noise will be while riding. Of all the e-bikes you have ridden and reviewed is there an e-bike that stood out to you as being the more quiet? Do you find that while riding in the woods…people more frequently comment or give looks if the e-bike is loud? In other words the louder the noise from your e-bike the more often you get comments and looks. Magicycle Ocelot Pro 2.0 This bike seems relatively quiet, until you really ramp up the speed. The new Cadence sensor is a great new feature, I’m sure it will be replicated. It’s great to hear more of the e-bike manufacturers are raising the weight capacity to 400-450 pounds. Thanks again for sharing your review…I’m still undecided on which e-bike to purchase. My goal is to strike a good balance in deciding which e-bike to purchase. I’m torn between which bike to buy to best accommodate my height and weight. A person could spend hours and hours watching all the bike reviews on KZread. I respect your opinion and trust your judgement, you provide an honest review. By the way my Char Sui barbecue pork came out fantastic! I miss living in Illinois, it’s almost impossible to find a good Chinese restaurant and a place that makes good pizza. 🍕 Yeah, I’ll admit it…I often give in and buy the Costco pepperoni 🍕 pizza slice or all beef Costco hot dog!🌭

Wow... lots of questions! To answer your questions... YES! Belts are quieter than chains, rear hub motors are louder than mid-drive (for the most part), knobbier tires are noisier than non-nobby tires. The quietest bike I ever had was the Magicycle Commuter bike. It was a single speed, belt driven bike. No gears meant that even when you coast, you don't hear any gears clicking. Smaller motor , smaller battery, but the frame was essentially a road bike frame. Very lightweight with very thin tires. It was like a stealth bike! Of course, Class 1 only, so no throttle and assist to 20mph. Glad your Char Siu came out good! :)

Oh, also, the bigger the bike, the more comments made. If you are riding a commuter style bike where many people don't even know or can tell that it is an ebike, the less comments. Ride a big bike like the Magicycle Cruiser or the Deer 26, you will get looks and possibly comments.
