Fooling them is easy. Fooling Penn and Teller is just another story. Forced choice on the notepad probably. P&T could have said "You forced your way into their minds" or something similar

I think the same. I think it is enough to trim the desired page a couple of millimeters, making it shorter, so that the notebook always opens to the desired page.

Spoiler alert: They are trick pads. No matter what page she chose it would always land on Beckam. Showing all the different names is just a part of how the trick pad works.

@@user-jd7tv7oj5s So he knew tea would be forced and so he filled the can with hot tea before the trick started. Then he uses a common magicians trick for the smoke and told them "feel... feel... the can is heating up". But the can was already hot. They never felt it cold. In any case that is just a guess he knew it would be tea so how exactly he rigged the can is open to interpretation.
