G I began to read Fourth Wing and actually loved the disability rep. It actually really touched me as someone with arthritis and a lot of it was her accepting she did have limitations and the practical things she had to do in order to feel long term benefits.

So exciting to hear your opinion on Forth wing, Yellowface and Divine rivals. I know you will be honest! 😊

i have read fourth wing. i am actually on a reread to highlight and take notes. it really does not shy away from her chronic pain which i really liked since i live with that as well.

I loved Sea of Tranquility, definitely one of my favourite books from last year. If you've read Station Eleven and/or The Glass Hotel by the same author, they all take place in the same universe and there is some lovely intertextuality!

Hahahaahaha fellow "let's make this harder on myself" here, as well. Went from Mage Hunter to Star Whisperer, so I also have an 8-book requirement. We got this, though, you and I. I had a blast putting together my TBR, which is 100% different than yours. :D

Sea of Tranquility is really, really good. I think I only had two 5 stars this year and it was one of them.

I think you’ll love Sea of Tranquility, it’s very character based! I would say writers and lovers is a funny literary fiction with some messy romance. One of my favs!

Omg!! I read sea of tranquility a couple weeks ago and thought "oooh I think its a book G would enjoy" (I recently read how high we go in the dark because of your recommendation and loved it! And there is something about the storytelling that is similar between the two books although I'm not sure what 😅). Aaaanyway, I wanted to recommend it to you at some point and you are already going to read it!! Very curious to hear your thoughts! And happy reading in august! Hi! I am new here, just learned about the Magical Readathon and will be participating. I loved Yellowface and the audiobook is excellent!!! It is totally unhinged so you need to go in ready to suspend your disbelief, but it is so much fun and the themes are so good ❤ hope you like it!

I know July was horrible for migraines and for my fibromyalgia. I’m hoping August is better in the health and reading Fourth Wing sounds interesting if I were reading anything other then my owned books. I might be setting myself for failure I’m doing Necromancer and Demonology I’m also going for my Dragon Riding License. I can’t wait for July 29th to start Orilium. Awesome Tbr. Currently reading Witch King and I'd say that the worldbuilding is complex & a bit difficult to follow at times, as the author doesn't explain much! I'd recommend the audiobook for this one, the narrator is great 🥰

I've read Witch King by Martha Wells and it was enjoyable, a 4/5 star read! It's definitely a book that drops you in the middle of the world and doesn't do a lot of up front explanations on how everything works so you learn as you go a long. Some people don't enjoy that, but I do and did with this book.

I'm reading Fourth Wing for one of my classes because it is what I saw on social media first lol but I can certainly vouch for Yellowface and Divine Rivals being amazing, both books just really captivated me

I feel like I need to add that there are some slow times in Fourth Wing. I had not really seen anyone talk about that so when I read it I had some moments when I wasn’t as connected with it because of pacing. I haven’t seen many people talk about that but I wanted to mention it.

I Have read writers and lovers (it is not really romance based but more her trying to find herself). This book had the most beautiful quote I have ever read but I will not spoil it😊 Also read Sea of Tranquility, didnt love it but time travel is not really my vibe. Hope you love it❤❤

Fourth Wing was NOT the best Chronic Illness representation -at least for me it wasn't. I was super excited since i heard the author herself has something similar as the main character has and thought, that should be great rep. But sadly it was very much one of those cases where the chronic illness was only remembered when it was convenient -like for example when the height or strength of the main character was an issue - but basically forgotten during any other time. The beginning was promising since that has the most and well done rep. But to me it felt a bit like the author said that if you have something chronic just work harder and deal with it. As someone that also has chronic pain and chronic migraines -especially bad ones this year- i found that a bit disappointing. I enjoyed the book overall well enough. Its fun and while i don't think the extreme hype is needed, its a good book and a fun read. Just don't get your hopes up as i did with the chronic ill rep :)

Read fourth eing and divine rivals 👀 loved both books. Found the ending of divine rivals a bit anticlimactic though ( but I guess thats quite the unpopular opinion...)! Cant wait to hear your thoughts on them! Ps. Loved the sparkels/glitter

I agree, the ending of Divine Rivals fell flat for me too. But I still love that book and still gave it 5 stars. I was just disappointed in how it ended.

I have a dislike for society using phrase "love triangle" whenever it's actually more of a 'love angle' Unless there is attraction 3 ways there is one side lacking to become a trangle 😅

Fourth Wing - I can’t understand the hype. I did not hate but I thought it read super YA - like the main character sounds about 14. Then there is graphic sex. I don’t mind sex in my books but I thought this was stupid.

Im so excited for Fourth Wing bc main has the condition of Ehlers-Danlos which is a very painful and hard illness I too have it and i want to see how the author does with it especially in a fantasy book
