Magic Tricks with Chords
Today I talk about some ways to view chord shapes as different chords, depending upon where you set your root. A Gsus2 is the same as a Dsus4? Well, that depends upon context. What I really am after is to get you thinking about fretboard and interval geometry while also letting go of some hangups over traditional chord shapes. Let me know your thoughts.

Are you referring to the G D A chord? You are correct that G and D are a 5th apart, as are D and A. But from G's perspective as root, A is a 2 (Gsus2, where the third is swapped for 2) also represented as 9 (G9 with the 3 omitted).
