I absolutely love this version. I passed on the previous releases of this mold hoping for a good repaint to pick up.

Very cool looking figure

I recently realized how many versions I have of Prime, so I am now leaning in to it and buying more. My most recent purchase is that Wonderful-trans IDW Prime. Looking forward to checking it out.

@@tydiriumhanger1320 believe this. Wfc is my favorite Optimus. Got a threezero wfc Optimus and threez uses diecast. The thing is heavier than I expected. Thought it was going to be more like mmc stuff. Brokes the the right shoulder metal pin. Then broke the left. Wtf?! I would think threezero did an amazing job, but too heavy. I think diecast is shit the way it's used here.😷

Yep all versions of this are great but they keep making the colors deeper and shinier

Its always great to see new versions of MP characters. No matter if it is a whole new design, stylized, or even just a repaint/remold of a previous one. It gives people chances to get that perfect version just for them. Personally I do love alot of these figures. The very first MP-01 Optimus Prime will always be the nearest & dearest to my heart, since it was my 1st MP figure ever. I still hope to get the trailer for it one day.

MP-01 did star all this MP stuff and still does hold a special place but in storage right now LOL

I have the original MP-10 - with metal bits etc. it’s fine but after seeing all of these new sculpts, I really want a new one. I hope they do another run of this sculpt without the stickers and with the white legs.

He looks excellent of course, for me though (subjective) with the yellow eyes the face should have been blue to match the G1 figure. TE-01 is going to remain my Optimus Prime, definitely would buy painted versions/shiny versions of Op Leader if he was ever produced again.

Would be great if Magic Square gave it a couple extra face sculpts. One for blue yes, and a more toy accurate version like Takara/Hasbro did with MP-36's toy deco.

Looks great. I just noticed the only Optimus recolor Transform Element did not do was the Ultra Magnus white.

MS has done great work now where is their megs

Personally I like the toy look more just because that's just my thing. But I think it looks even more impressive when you take out his face and put in a faceplate with blue eyes because it really pops. He doesn't look is good as good in my opinion by himself, but when you have them mixed in with other guys, that's when he really starts to shine. The silver actually starts to work I think when he's with a group of other bots. I especially think he pair as well just the aesthetics of it with Nemesis prime for example because it's the same figure, but black and silver. So when you have the two paired up or standing next to each other, the color is actually do play off each other very well and to me more pleasing to the eye. I think you lose something when you just have him by himself. What's the leader without his crew right? Cool video Mike!

Great review Mike! Magic Square metallic version looks great! I believe I may have to pick up this up. I would keep him in bot mode. I will re-watch your review to visit the cons again. I truly like the dark blue and metallic color.

Great figure but Transformation is a pain as I had a hard time with the front of the cab pegging in properly. Looked great in both modes but the wheels doesn't roll very well on my copy as it's rubbing against the sides of the plastic. Other than this, still the best looking Prime mold. I just wish they painted him like the metallic Prime in the previous version. I keep the toon look in robot mode, the toy in alt mode and have them both displayed side by side. A head sculpt with yellow eyes would had been good too. However, since he's in alt mode, it doesn't really matter that much to me.

Having transformed mp44 recently this one is way smoother of a transformation than that one

Nice video. I really like this figure. I have the Nemesis version of the mold and the previous mold that has the metallic red. I actually love that one the most, I used to have the Ex Version of this mold but sold it. If this version didn’t have the “stickers” I’d go for it. Even with the yellow eyes. I think it looks great, like the silver more than the white of the EX version. It’s as if the toy companies including Hasbro will make the figure almost perfect, but then spoil it by taking away something or adding something that I don’t like. Maybe I’m being picky. I guess I need to become a customized and make things the way I like it. 😅

You may have to customize aspects of these figures to get what you want. I try not to because my skill is very low in that department

Still love my MP-10. But it's definitely not perfect. Held out for a painted TE-01 but that never came. That one has the cleanest, lowest truck rear deck and the most Movie-accurate Matrix chamber. But I'm still an MP originalist. Transformers are supposed to be disguised as real world items, and to me that still means realistic Earth-based alt modes, with toon bot modes. The two single round headlight design was actually the cheaper headlight choice for real world Freightliner trucks. Most owner operators who only had to take care of their one truck splurged and went for the two dual, i.e. quad, headlight design, because it provided greater visibility. The singles generally were the mark of fleet vehicles, which meant the owner had to buy a lot of trucks and couldn't spend as much on each one; or they were vocational vehicles, which mean they were specialized trucks for very limited purposes or they drove very short routes (like garbage trucks or single day cab yard trucks). OP was neither. And G1 OP had the oval quad headlight housing design, which lasted until mid 1984. The square single or rectangle quad headlight housing look of the animation is just plain wrong, and I am annoyed by toymakers copying that animation error. That's just as bad as if toymakers perpetuated the same exposed screwholes or mold seamlines from the original toys, or any of the miscoloring errors from the toon. None of these modern MP Primes satisfy me completely, but MP-10 is still the closest to my ideal. So it looks like I'm stuck with him and his imperfections. (At least he has a full trailer!)

I know that prime is a big seller every time they come out with a new one, but I have to believe that Megatron would be as well. Why the hell is no one working on or putting out G1 Megatron molds? They would probably sell better than OP molds because it’s been so damn long. And the excuse of staying out of Hasbro’s way doesn’t hold water.
