This show never ruined magic for me. I actually have even more appreciation for them knowing just how intricate and carefully choreographed they are. I’ve always been one who didn’t believe in magic. I knew it was fake and I would spend a lot of time trying to figure out how it was done and a lot of times I was right. A lot of times it’s common sense if you just look at all the facts. If the magician is waving his hands gesturing me to look somewhere I would always look somewhere else because that’s where the real magic is happening. This show also showed me just how much work the “assistants” do. A lot of the time they’re doing 95% of the “magic” and the magician is just waving his hands and taking the credit. The assistants deserve so much more recognition and appreciation

The bed of spikes is dangerous I counted from when the curtains is fully closed to when the spikes fall 12 seconds, that's how quick you need to get to the safe spot, plus it's a small area, and there's no way the assistant will know if the magician is in the safe spot due to the curtains.

I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the magician is not always the same man. In the last three episodes I watched, he was a heavier set man with a belly, and he had the coloration in his hands of a light skin black man. This guy is definitely not that same guy. He is more agile, a flat stomach, in shape, and I believe, white. These episodes have different magician's to carry out different tricks.

Sure doll houses depending on the size, the materials used, time to build for someone the 'houses' can get pricey. BUT !! If it's just for fun and not for a 'pricey display', then use use what you have on hand, card board, tape, clay, you can use light made easy to cut boards found in hobby shops. You can put lighting in your model, you get at hobby stores. Put tthe copper strips around above your baseboards, up to and across the ceiling, then put very thin doll 'wallpaper' on the walls to cover the strips then buy the lights you can plug the lamps into anywhere along where your hidden copper strips are and you hide the small powerpack. You can have fun projects with your kids, or by yourself, if you can dream it up, you'll find ways to build your own special home or building. It isn't rocket science, just have fun doing it. I've made all kinds of buildings and homes. From the very detailed, on the pricey side, to kids doll houses, train modle buildings and the hardest one I ever do was Lizzy Borden's house. Heck some folks pay ALOT for just a single room ! But with planing and depending on the stuff you plan on building it with, it doesn't have to cost a small fortune to build a fun doll house.

I still wish that this show was still coming on TV on 2023
Woohoo the phantom magic man! Used to watch it all the time only on AXNn!! ❤🎉😂😮😊🌍
This is cool! I am really enjoying watching all of these episodes.

I've asked a work man to hook me to a Crain in the sun and lift me a few feet in air so it's hard to see the cables now I've told you my secret
I recall seeing this the first time it aired 25 years ago. It's as cool now as it was then.
The very first show I've ever seen was this one, I only saw the last trick, and I've been s fan since the 2000s love watching the repeats never gets old. My brother & I loved this show now that he's passed on it brings so much good memories.

This is one of the best episodes out of all the episodes and seasons!
I know that magicians around the world were upset about this show. However, in my opinion, this show allowed me to appreciate even more the time, energy, and dedication the magicians put into their performances. Magic is a true art form of theatrics and showmanship.

Yes he got sued over it, but of course it was dismissed as you can't copyright an optical illusion. It was the one that made it look like the assistant was impaled but it's actually a tip of a spike under her dress
After seeing the body stretcher trick all I could think about on the haunted house trick was that there were 2 tiny assistance hiding behind the back doors
I’m still calling Scully and Mulder
this show just revealed itself in my memory bank
My high admiration & kudos upon the people who come up w/ those ideas, the engineers who create those devices, & a performer or magician who acts as if there is nothing to it!!! I almost forgot to say my appreciation to those lovely assistants of the magician. By virtue of them all concerned, we are able to enjoy, admire, & appreciate them at the opulent comfort of our residence. (12/17/23)
I've grabbed my popcorn and soda and eagerly waiting for an episode of fake magic 😊🍿

Nice magic Good work Thanks 🙏
23:11 I set partially this one. I knew that the radio was stuck to the tray, but I didn't know that were necessary 2 plastic rods to make the cloth have the radio shape.
In the first trick, as the lady plays around with the rope, imagine if she accidentally pulls too hard and the spikes fall before the magician is in place. Also, from the camera angle, it seems that the magician should be hit by one of the spikes from where he was hiding.
Other magicians must just love this guy.
Still love to see magic tricks but I always want to know how they did it. Doesn't ruin it for me. Still cool!
Totally awesome I kind of knew what happened with some of the tricks but it's still awesome just awsome it Will not ruin magic for me 😂😂

Wow. I saw over a million views, and as I was clicking on it, thought I wished they still showed thumbs-down, since a bad ratio would tell me whether the title is click-bat. Even so, only 3,400 likes on this video made me think it must be terrible. But the first four comments all indicate this is for real! I'll continue watching...

That start used to make me scared
Omg that daggers illusion reminded me of AHS.
The magician did it once again !
Cool
The bed of spikes is dangerous I counted from when the curtains is fully closed to when the spikes fall 12 seconds, that's how quick you need to get to the safe spot, plus it's a small area, and there's no way the assistant will know if the magician is in the safe spot due to the curtains.
very good
hiring process: Are you hot? yes Are you claustrophobic? No Hired!

Actually, if you watch the last magic carefully, you will notice that the background was different before the trick and after the trick. This detail was the the key of the secret.

Longtime coming, but I would bet these tricks were filmed on mostly the same days, at least a couple a day. So it wouldn’t make sense for a costume change mid filming just because they aren’t visible in this particular trick
What was the cue for the guy hiding behind the wheel to move the knives? He can’t see the magician fake the throw.
You don't need to lie about the high quality.

Yep I totally agree also, strange that I came across this comment because as I was watching this 3rd episode I was thinking wait, the "masked magician" looks like he lost some weight...lol. And even his head is shaped slightly different, hmm. Now I see I wasn't the only one who noticed that. 👍 It's definitely not the same magician in every episode.
@MakeItWithCalvin

It could be that the "masked magician" intentionally wore extra padding underneath his suit and acted differently to throw people off. That said it would be interesting to cross-reference tricks Val was known to do vs what was shown on the show and compare it to other people?
@AWGragg007

Better magician too. The fat magician guy you've been watching is someone else.
note: The knife throwing trick isnt "How its always done", some guys do actually just get good enough to do it properly, so you can actually see the knife fly to its target, rather than 'teleport'.
@tropicalbeach9225
7 ай бұрын
No it is actually done like that... It would be near impossible to hit every target perfectly... there is always another person hiding behind the target putting the knifes, axes, or darts or whatever object through.
Reminds me of the phrase from "Now You See Me": the closer you look, the less you see.
It's funny -- I can usually figure out the big illusions, yet that stupid simple radio trick fooled me. Damn!
Just realizing the guy who was Col. Caldwell on SGA was the host of this show.

Lol his eyes are so creepy
the narrator sounds sooo depressed
Hopefully the assistant was in on the dagger trick. If not, she would've been freaking out.

Anybody notice that in this third edition the magician is wearing gloves, something he didn't do in the first 2 specials. People were probably guessing who he was by looking at his hands. All they needed to do though was check the names of the producers bc his name was listed in the closing credits(Not in this edition).
Can you pls reveal the secret of Japanese thumb tie
One feels quite silly when one discovers what the real #magic is! lol
