Performing this type of a watch stopping effect is simply much too risky. What if someone’s watch was already broken and then they try to blame it on you? What if someone is using a fake Rolex and then accuses you of switching their watch for a fake one? This is the same reason that many professionals no longer perform a watch steal. This is the same reason why many professionals are careful what type of ring they use in a traditional ring flight. Where are far better effects.

Yes. That was told by my mentor as well. Be careful when you borrow watch and ring. Don't choose the very expensive one.

Honestly, I'm not disappointed based on the review. It's a good price for the amount of instruction and diversity of approaches that I see in the contents slides you shared. I love stuff like this, and while watches are less common, these tactics could work all the better for that very reason. Also, having this stuff can make for a decent chunk of time in a parlor mentalism act where low-tech props are fully examined... no magic watches needed!

You’ve definitely gotten me very curious as to how you actually stop the watch as well as to how quartz watches are either meant to be avoided or sought out to perform the effects. I looked at where you crossed out words to see if I could figure out how the watch is actually stopped. Are there other tricks that use the same method as the one for this effect and if so are you comfortable in telling us the name of the trick? As always thanks for yet another great video.

Hi David, thanks for the review on this trick! I recently got the trick and felt the same as you about it. I have not seen all five hours but have to say, the videos almost put me to sleep. Sounds crazy but true. Menny is good and appreciate his sharing but boredom crept up a number of times. The lessons are valuable and teach a lot of techniques. Have not performed for anyone yet as it does take some ample practice and dexterity to become proficient. All in all, it is a good effect for the right person and watch as mentioned in your review. Not sorry I got this trick and all that comes with it. Just not sure how often I will be utilizing it.

Great review David. The project seems great. And while I don't doubt Menny's thorough covering of everything related to this type of effect, for me the risks outweigh the payoff. Not to mention watches are not as common an item as they once were, so for me it's not worth it.

Your last negative was my first thought when I first saw this come out. 9 out of 10 people I come in contact with these days have a smart/Apple Watch. Not sure how many people are wearing analog watches these days and, if so, I find that they are generally high end vanity pieces.

I just got mine and have to get to the videos. I like that it's a master class in this unique bit of magic. You didn't mention the stopping of a wall clock. That's a puzzle. The safest thing is to bring out 3 large face inexpensive watches with prominent second hands. Why get them worried about their own watch whaen the magic happens?

Being that it requires watches from back in the day, us so called bizarrists could easily have it on our altar and weave a horrific story behind it. But, geez , pray, tell me; if it's just a trick w the age old tool as it's substratum then why in the world would the avg level mage buy it, when most of us have at least 100 laying around? Perhaps the routines eh...guess I'm askin' what makes this special....er. Welp off I go down your rabbit hole of magic for the next 4 hrs. Once I start I can't stop!
