My fav deck is the citizens, not only does the tuck box look cool, but the cards actually have gold ink printed on them as opposed to a b&w deck like the others

Great List! For cardistry ( I ask this alot I know ) , If I were to get cards only from either only theory11, only ellusionist, or only the standard Bicycles (dragonback,stargazer,other custom decks made by bicycle) which one should I choose?

Thanks for the review David. Purely for the whimsical design and departure from the norm I would have added the Animals deck somewhere, but nevertheless a great top 10. One thing I could contribute that I love about Theory 11 decks is most Barnes and Noble bookstores carry them. So it's an easy way for people to get their hands on them. Thanks again David!

The Medallions are the most beautiful decks from theory11 .An insanely handsome deck of cards. Great feel and design all across the spectrum.I love these cards from the detail on the box to the cards. Beautiful deck, attention to detail, and great feel.

I like your review, and love the theory 11 decks. That being said, a pet peeve of mine I presume but I wish more deck reviews would display the unique aspects of the front of the cards, particularly the jokers and ace of spades.

Design wise I do like the Contraband better, but handing wise it's Monarchs all the way. My Contraband deck seemed to wear down really really quickly, like after only a week of light use, so maybe I just got a bad pack. How do you rate your top 10? Is it only off of looks, or also off of feel?

Hi, is there a way you can provide a top 10 decks that provide a blank card instead of a double backer ? Only one I've found in my collection was one David Blaine and one theory 11 (aristocrat) but every else from theory 11 are double backers .. thanks in advance .

any deck made by Bicycle - remember there are probably only 4 major card printers in the world - and each one prints their cards the EXACT same way. So "handling" is really a myth that the "sellers" create to get you to buy their product.

For me, top 2 T11 are Black Centurions and Monarchs. JAQK Series is also great choice. However, they're quite expensive.

I have most of the T11 decks in the list. Here is my opinion on usability in 3 categories. Magic - Artisan, Tycoon, Bikes. They have classic aesthetics and the durability is there for a longer use (tycoons seem to clump faster then the others, at least in my experience) they also don't give off the "trick deck" feel that lay would expect. Cardistry - Monarch, rarebit, citizen, nomad (all look good in motion and flourish) Hybrid - tycoon, rarebit, monarch, Fallon, contraband.

Mail chimp is a brand that collaborated with T11 to make a deck. It is not an independent T11 design

Great decks. For me, monarchs go Top two. They just have that feel that something magical is about to happen when you pull them out. Although I don't see why people love JAQK so much, they definitely could be Top ten.

Theory11 makes some of the most elegant decks. Random place to ask, but have you checked out Daniel Madison's anthology book?

I didn’t think so. I even went on there web site and didn’t find anything. I got their Star Wars deck and it’s obvious that the cards are little more thinner than the bicycle standard decks do you know if theory 11 makes a standard thickness card like the bicycle standard and if so which ones.

You should have hands on every deck of card so that viewers will know the quality of the cards.

No mention of the JAQK Cellars. Those are some amazing cards.

Dont get me wrong the tycoons are very nice but i dont know what it is, they just dont impress me as much as all of the other theory11 decks. Same goes for the medallions, very nice decks, handle well but again that wow factor just isn't there for me. I have to say I absolutely love the Rarebits, they're probably my favourite. Then contraband, citizens and monarchs are in my top 5

magicorthodoxy true, i’ve no problem with how the cards handle, I just find the design a bit repetitive: always a dark coloured tuck case with gold emboss and a dark coloured back design with lines and shapes. That being said, I still love the OG monarchs. p.s. i think art of play has stuck to USPCC all this time too?

JAQK was a deck for a winery.... it's good, but I wouldn't call it a true T11 deck

eh, mailchimp was a collaboration between mailchimp and Fuzzco .. not really a true in house T11 deck, but it's a great deck

As for me, number 1 would be Union, the most custom T11 deck out there. I do appreciate T11's intricate designs, but I have a feeling the company is stuck doing the same stuff over and over: overly designed art-deco decks. NPH collab looks almost as the new Jimmy Fallon collab, and I find it hard to distinguish Artisan, Tycoon and Nomad decks I also miss JAQK decks in this list, and Bad Robot and Players are top notch decks

Plus other companies have their own T11 "wanna be" decks - Ellusionist has Aurelian, D&D has "Sons of Liberty" etc

Yes, I also do feel that Aurelians were just an Ellusionist response to T11's decks. But overall, the company behind the cards rarely matters, all that matters is the factory, the designer, and the man handling the deck Theory11 also do charity decks, which I appreciate greatly. Charity: Water and Animal Kingdom are great ideas

Many of these decks are ordinary cards in fancy boxes. Two out of three Theory 11 decks I have purchased have had the backs either printed or cut off-center. I like the 007 cards and the Citizens but won’t be buying very many of the others. I had a Hudson deck that was terribly off-center.

@@magicorthodoxy I was happy to finally see someone who does not put monarchs in number one. Everyone always just calls monarchs the best deck.

95% of the cool factor of these decks is the box. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I play with the cards, not the box. I don’t care about an intricate box if the card back is black and white and the pips/court look the same as a $1 deck.

I understand your reasons for not commenting on it btw. But you'll say 'this card is this thick'. Okay... Well why not use words like 'soft' 'smooth' 'rigid'. Maybe comment on durability. I mean it's not all just 'well my opinion will be subjective so I can't say anything. Why not use descriptive language just to give an idea?
