  • @Orebrey

    @@suegriessel5639 sure! It has a few benefits! After taking baked polymer clay right out of the oven, you can put the pieces directly into ice water or cold water and with certain brands of translucent/transparent clay, it will clarify them even more and the clarity will remain stable and stay. Also, with some brands of polymer clay when you make smaller pieces or intricate details (or a lot of connection points) it can help strengthen the finished product! There are some videos that attempt to debunk this but this video shows clearly how it works to clarify the pieces they made!

    You are truly fearless in your explorations. This technique, esp. the double black acrylic as a base (!!) for sgraffito/alcohol ink , needs your name attached to it. ( I gasped when you started ripping it to shreds! ) Also the trans over glitter is a genius way to soften any "gaudiness". Lastly, the little twist to create "potato chip" wafers is not seen enough. Not looking like stone to me; somehow reminds me of graphic silkscreen or batik on midnight blue silk. PS I love Arteza's lines; want to explore their new beautiful metallic acrylic paints. They turned out super cool i must say 🤗 Do u use anything on the cocktail stick before skewering beads on them cause i used wooden skewers to make holes in my beads and then baked it on the skewer, the beads wouldn't come off after baking and when i tried to force it out, the skewer just broke and was still inside the bead 😭

  • @Sundiyday

    @Sundiyday

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thank you 🥰 Yes , it happened with my beads one time too , but usually everything is ok. Probably you have to insert your skewer and twirl the stick in the beads. And after baking (still warm) you have to twirl carefully using the pliers and force it easy out.

    Amazing tutorial! It's always fascinating to see how you achieve these beautiful effects. I just have a question on that finding you put into the teardrop... What are those called? They look like they have an anchor stem to stick into the clay but also a built in cap and stem with loop. I've seen many variations of these but can't seem to locate them because I can't figure out what they're called. I looked at the links you listed but can't seem to find any reference to them. Thank you so much for the video and sharing all you do! ☺️

    When I am using translucent clay in my own work, I find that they come out more clear if I cool them very quickly when they are finished baking. I will usually take my pieces out of the oven and immediately drop them into ice water. In the video, you can see the effect; you can watch the top translucent layer clear as it cools, and reveal more of the glitter below.
