Quite interesting maxim. So Mercury is the planet of effortlessness, and whichever house it is placed, effortlessness is the outcome. Of course if there are malefic conjunctions, there may be obstacles to reaching that state of effortlessness in that house. so 1st house mercury with ketu may mean obstacles to attaining that state of effortless good health, appearance and life quality. But once ketu baadhaa is past, state of effortlessness flows in. ketu in 1st house can undermine good health, appearance and life quality. If the same conjunction mercury and ketu happens in 9th house, effortlessly man jumps deeper into dharma and yoga because ketu anyways supports spiritual advancement. But the material luck improves only after ketu baadhaa is past

I have mercury in 5th for simha rising. My older son has it in 1st for Sagittarius rising and 2nd has it in 9th for Cancer rising. Both my kids 20 and 12 years are doing good.
