It’s a great way to get out of the sun and slow down. We used to do it with our son - we went when he was 5 6 and 10 yrs old. He enjoyed it each time.

Loved this ride - rest, relax and take a tour .....

Facts, it’s awesome to beat the heat for a couple minutes and just relax. PLUS THERES NO LINE!!

I rode this when I was an 8 year old kid in the 70's! I loved the little scenes that were lit up with blacklight!

On a steamy hot August day, there is nothing better than a ride or two on the people mover to cool you off

No trip to the MK is complete without a few rides on the Peoplemover. This and the Carousel of Progress hold special memories for me. They were my Mom's favorite, who has since passed on. So whenever I ride this or see COP, I'm in a happy place. Tfs 4K...you made my night friend! 😊

Same here! I’m glad this ride is still around. It has been closed for over a year due to a big refurbishment, but it’s rumored to reopen on May 1st so I really hope that’s true! I ride this more than anything at the Magic Kingdom. Thanks for watching as always B.J. 😃

My favorite ride at Disney World growing up. It's so unfortunate that the People Mover in Disney Land was never restored. They let it sit there collecting leaves and dust.

@@4KWDW I did some searching. They claimed that they shut it down because someone fell off of it. I've seen that ride too, and just like the one in Disney World you can easily jump off of it if you want to. It's what happens when people do stupid things. ALL the money Disney has and they don't restore it. I will admit that I don't like the design that Disney Land has compared to DW. It looks like it was a glorified mountain coaster ride.

Jimmy Johnson Disneyland Park got rid of Peoplemover in 1995. Florida's Walt Disney World still has it in their Tomorrowland. 25 years later, it still hurts not seeing it at Disneyland. . Part of the track still stands.

@@PressureDot They thought people wanted a newer, more exciting ride, and replaced it with Rocket Racers. The track was never set up to be able to handle the stresses and did irreparable damage to the track. Frankly if you ask me, they're lucky the rockets didn't derail and kill someone. The People Mover in Disneyland had some tight turns because it was a slow ride, they could do it safely. If you want to know more, check out Offhand Disney's coverage.

@@angrytheclown801 It was a mistake. The brilliant idea of using magnetic induction motors is why the Peoplemover in Disney World can run for so long. It is an extremely durable and reliable system because there are no moving parts other than the doors on the cars. In fact, at one point, the motors outlasted their own track mounts! I remember riding this in 1991 or '92 and was shocked to see bits and pieces of the motor covers all over the center of the track. I guess because the cars moved slowly, there was no danger of flying debris. Disney probably replaced all the covers after deciding it looked unprofessional compared with the rest of Tomorrowland.

This was the first ride I ever went on when I was 6 and it was cool. When me and my family went back in 2018 this was already the first ride we went on and our last. For now at least.

Got stuck on this during midnight on MNSCHP and it was a NIGHTMARE

A must ride for me when at the magic kingdom. A very relaxing ride, overlooking tomorrow land, tron, even the castle. Doesn't get any better. A very enjoyable ride that you don't mine doing a few times.

Who else has went on this ride and saw Space Mountain with the lights on. I did in my recent trip a couple weeks ago! Me and my dad were on fast pass line and had to leave. Magic Kingdom had a lot of temporary closed rides that day.

I got stuck at the top of Space Mountain years ago. They turned the lights on, and it was pretty creepy up there. We found out later some teen boys had their arms or legs out of the vehicle, and they were escorted out of the park.

I am so excited to go on this ride when we go on our trip in June!

No, that is when you are inside Space Mountain! The screams you hear are from the people riding Space Mountain. The ride doesn’t get faster at all

Let's face it this ride is very tame....but honestly, I get so happy just being at Disney looking at souvenir shops.

I think they mentioned that the People Mover is still being "repaired" because of an accident/incident where the rows of cars bumped pretty hard and injured someone who has a lawsuit. I am wondering of some kind of magnets that deflect power on the end of each row of cars/transport mover cars would deflect that bumping. Not sure how they are fixing the problem and why it is taking so very long. Just trying to help.

It makes no sense! The propulsion system was actually very simple: magnets buried in the tracks switched on and off to repel each other. This pushes the cars along. It is a VERY durable and reliable system. I've been on the Peoplemover in Disney World Orlando three times over a total of almost 19 years and I've never seen the system break down. Over a period of several years, this effective propulsion system makes the Peoplemover probably the cheapest form of transportation at any of Disney's theme parks worldwide. Just about the only thing that will stop it is if the whole city of Orlando has a power outage.

This ride is so basic but we all love it!

The loss of innocence is doing them in. Once when you heard Disney it meant a place of refuge. A care for your complete theming experience. Now it's all about were can I put another money grabber in this space . .

Kinda odd that it's sponsored and maintained by Alamo car rental. Oh, well, it's South Florida, they know tourists are vital to their rental service. In the beginning, it was sponsored by Goodyear for a very brief time but they pulled sponsorship over some row about Disney deciding to remove the *obvious* Goodyear supplied tires and wheels so they could switch to linear induction motors.

Wish they could keep the people mover at Disneyland

Wow! It just donned on me The view for this ride will be forever altered with the addition of Tron Cycles Thus, so will the Train (although, once you leave Frontierland, its a snooze fest) Still, they need a new park, not new rides and hotels

The people mover has always been one of my favorites, but they could do more with it. It’s supposed to give you a tour of tomorrowland and showcase its attractions. They should enclose the whole glide past the Carousel of Progress and give you a preview of the ride in there. Also, inside the tunnels to the buildings, they could dress that up to give you a fuller preview of the attractions. And whatever that thumping is that you hear throughout your travels, please fix that.
