@@bowlman_Newton's law states other wise, the protector breaking is the whole point of it's existence, when it breaks it distributes the energy through the protector breaking and not into your phone's screen, if the protector is really bendy or really hard to break, it will distribute all the energy into your phone's actual screen, shattering it

A screen protector is supposed to shatter to absorb the shock. These bendy screen protectors will transfer the impact to your actual screen, most likely cracking it from underneath. Same concept applies to bicycle helmets, they’re supposed to break on impact to absorb the shock.
