It's hard to stay mad when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once and it's too much. My heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst. And then I remember to relax... and stop trying to hold on to it. And then it flows through me like rain, and I can't feel anything but gratitude... for every single moment... --American Beauty

A simple piece of fabric, silk sheet, moving freely against the pushing air, with no form of life whatsoever is making this random movement with such beauty and harmony, made me realise that IT has more life in it than some of us people.

Am i the only one out here, recognizing the soundtrack of American beauty? at this particular moment of the film where the 3-rd protagonist of the film show to the daughter of Kevin spacey ( brilliant acting by the way ) his thought of the whole beauty of the world in a empty bag dancing in the wind? i was mesmerized at that scene of the film, and now, damn...

I'm glad that someone articulated this beauty. I notice things like bags or debris getting blown around by the wind tunnels created by New York City streets and high towering buildings and often think that it would be nice to extend the moment in some accurate way... this does that.

This is beautiful in many ways. From an artistic standpoint with the lighting and the allusion to fire with the color of the sheet, and from an engineering standpoint with creating a near-perfect vortex.

imagine I'm david attenborough, "stoners from far reaches of the globe flock to this particular channel to sit, and merely contemplate life, stone beyond belief. A truly accustomed stoner could sit here for days, sharing stories with his co-stoners about the meaning of life and how the carpet resembles humanity floating through space with no real point or justification. For years researchers has sought after a video which such depth and clarity, and alas, we have stumbled across one, marvellous"

i think its just as simple as it looks,8 fans placed equidistant on a circle, the force of incoming air-waves to the center after collision will look for a way to release pressure, there's a lot of space between the fans but when the waves meet at center, the incidence lines are pretty close & have very little space to escape, as by laws of physics any pressure will take the most easier route to release itself, in this case UP, which is what i THINK is holding the light "chiffon" like fabric
