Magia actually sounds more awesome in German. Also, Madoka has too much German themes in it. The Witches' names are German, Walpurgisnacht is a German celebration, the story was based on the German legend of Faust, and so on, It's just begging to have at least a German song in it.

Scriptwriter Gen Urobuchi says that the entire plot of Rebellion is the lyrics to Magia. Anyone who has seen that film would agree with that if they read those lyrics after watching the film. And considering the themes of that film, this cover is even more fitting.

Kinda interesting, you can hear the Germanic roots of some English words when you notice the current German pronunciation isn't that different. Middle English in particular is great at demonstrating this link, with words like "night" still being pronounced in the German way.

Im late but....w/e Could be because the saxons lived on the british island for a while. And even after they lost the War they had their part on the english language we know today. Thats why some English and German words are close or even the same ("Poltergeist" for example)

Most modern lenguages come from an older one for example Romance Lenguages come from latin spanish,italian,portugese,romanian and others come from latin and i think that english,french and german they might have a base lenguage too

When you only learned German for 5 years, thought you were bad at German, but you still end up understanding most of it. O.o

I'm afraid to say I don't understand a single word, but I'm sure this is the best cover of Magia that is sung in languages other than Japanese.

I don't speak germen, but I have to say that this language is really elegant. You don't know the chance that you have to speak it. Also, the singer have a beautiful voice.

I just started learning German yesterday but listening to this song really gave my motivation a boost it sounds so awesome

a german vocal song in MSMM is really what you would expect from an anime that is quite like Faust and about witches. I really dont get why SHAFT ignored that chance. Nice cover btw, its probably the best version of this song on youtube.

ComanderSev Yeah. the producers on AoT saw that chance and took it tho XD Come on SHAFT, insert some ACTUAL GERMAN SINGING into the next possible movie :D If you look closely into the scenery in MSMM, you can see some german phrases drawn on the wall, in the movie and in the actual series.

Hard language? 😂 Wut? And no, I'm not German.

I was playing War Thunder while listening to a playlist, my team was losing, and we were down to 5 guys (out of 16), and outnumbered. Then this started playing and me and the survivors (in all German tanks at that) proceeded to turn the entire match around and win by eliminating all the other players. Best BGM for impossible fight in a while. And allow me to say that this, and Strawbelly's Bad Apple! cover, may be two of the most beautiful things I have heard in a long time. Sehr gut, mein Freund. Daumantas Sarapovas Yeah, apparently, though I've never read Faust myself. There was a witch named Walpurgisnacht in the manga as well. It was where Madoka died in every iteration- in the first one, she tried fighting it alone, and in subsequent iterations it grew stronger as her wish gained more and more potential.

Walpurgisnacht is German and translates to Walpurga's Night. It is a cultural festival held in Central Europe, Germany included, on or near the first of May. It is their May Day festival and its filled with bonfires and dancing. Walpurga was the name of a female saint who was canonized on the first of May in the 9th century. I'm half German and was excited to discover the amount of German present in this anime.

Unglaublich gut! Das Cover beweist einmal mehr, dass die Geschichte von Madoka Magica sehr düster ist und all die dunklen Seiten des Lebens aufzeigt.

Perfekt und mit Abstand das Beste Cover von Magia. Generell gefällt es mir deins von allen Covers egal in welcher Sprache,am besten. Deine Version läuft schon auf meinem Musikplayer rauf und runter. :D

Wunderbar Lied! Ich denke, dass orchestra Version ist besser als Original. So viel Mahl ich habe dieses Lied gehört und ich weis, dass ich werde das sehen. Das Wortschatz gefällt mir sehr gut!
