Telling Negan would have meant that Maggie was asking him for a favor, as opposed to him feeling like he owes it to her and Hershel. It goes from, I need you to do this to help me get my son back to I’m trading you for my sons life. She’d much rather control him by guilt tripping him into the fiasco. Also if you remember, she picked up a knife when he was in the shower which makes it seem a lot more sinister.

Maggie set up negan as bait for the Croat in return for her son back, so the only reason she took negan out of everyone else from the community was to use him as bait

Lets be real....if Maggie had just told Negan what was going on, he would have gone regardless. Negan doesnt like seeing kids hurt, he knows what this guy does, and much like with Carl and Judith and even Herschel, Negan will go the distance to save/protect. This is just bad writing for two chsracters who now understand each other and have before this series began.

Negan has already saved Hershel once and owned up to killing Glenn when Hershel figured out it was him. He wouldn't have thought twice to step up if Maggie simply asked for help.

Come on let’s be real Negan knew what he was walking into that why he asked Maggie all throughout the season to take care of Ginny for him. He knew once he saw the wanted posters that he wasn’t coming back

I know Maggie had a reason to do what she did to save Herschel, but to be fair, she did displaying a bad human traits, being a liar and dishonorable person considering negan wasn’t even given the exact truth he was just lied to just to get what she wanted clearly she’s stupid enough to think that her actions justify the ends

Maggie is playing a dangerous game once Negan finds out bout Ginny! She’s better 10 steps ahead for what’s bout to come.. besides Negan got a soft spot for endangering kids so can’t wait for next week final ep

Because the main show ened and now it’s time for milking money on dumb spin offs. 6 episodes and 95% of every episode is walking, talking, killing walkers and 5% is action (and important storyline)

So basically like Cammy said Maggie said that they were raided by the Croat and Hershel was taken but she needed Negan's help because Negan knew the man who took him and implied Negan would have the sway/power to get Hershel back. She lied The Croat took Hershel and will keep him until Maggie brings Negan to him and exchanges Negan for Hershel. Maggie lured Negan there under the idea that he was helping her, but in reality she was exchanging him for Hershel.

Nope, not at all. Croat (the bastard who kidnapped her son) is. Maggie sold Negan out, that doesn't make her a villain by any means. She has no obligation to put her son's life in jeopardy for the bastard that smashed her husband's skull in.

Saved kids from dying such as Judith, Lydia and even saved Hershel from commonwealth soldiers. In the series finale Negan felt remorse for what he did to Glenn. So say whatever you want but Maggie not being honest with Negan is making her worse than Negan was back then. If she was honest with him I guarantee you he would have helped her still since he has a soft spot for kids

Thank god I never continued the show after season 8.

Negan deserves to be handed to the Croat. He caused all of this because was a psychotic and shitty leader, who abused his power to the point where Hilltop wanted out, to the point where his sheep were killing anyone they came across, to the point where Sherry, Dwight and Sherry's sister Tina ran away, and to the point where Rick's group wanted to get rid of the threat.

They were literally going around enslaving communities that they outnumbered under the threat of death. They usually operated by killing at least one person from any new group they came across just to make their point.
