Magdalena Bay seems to have reached their final form. Their older style of music, 'fuller' live-action videos, and late-millennial and early Zoomer green screen aesthetic are all coming together into a more modern age. There's so much more meaning to everything now too! This is a wonderful example of true artists progressing after years of development.

I discovered Magdalena Bay and this mesmerizing song on the first day of 2024. It is not an exaggeration to say this song is a masterpiece. The video is candy for the eyes, as it nods to the ever so simple era of MySpace, dial up, and AOL. ❤❤❤

i'm 40 and am so happy, seriously, that the Windows 3.1 through 98 PC aesthetic is finally being filtered through a fully detached generation. like a few of my brain muscles have been waiting for this for 25 years and have finally relaxed for the first time ever. even better, I've heard a few MB songs and liked em OK but this one is the 1st i totally fuckin love. fully on board. well fuckin done.

WoW, I have watched this so many times. So cool all the elements brought together that speak to the lifetime of people from my generation, Generation X. I do consider this a masterpiece. Dawning of the Season's transition into this is FLAWLESS

It's like they climbed inside my brain and lifted out a load of stuff I like and then mixed it with some things other nerds like and then presented it as a gift especially for me.

There is this bewitching quality to her voice when she makes a soft lilt like in 2:44, almost similar to Grimes. However, their style of music are quite disparate; I particularly enjoy the nostalgic synths, impelling beats and disarmingly fresh, exciting energy of Magdalena Bay's songs. Their releases do not feel repetitive one bit and are rich in sonic layers and instrumental details, which is something I like about Grime's earlier music too. Additionally, Mica and Matthew both look really compatible and comfortable with each other!

I like how at 2:26 she turns into Contrapoints.

It's a very meaningful song that feels like an arrow has been pierced through your entire body. Its very existence is very refreshing.

I'm the opposite. I was hooked right away. However, their other songs did take a while to warm up to. It's all really good.

I saw them live and the crowd loooooved and was singing along to this. I'm so glad they're out touring and getting exposure, and finally getting to see them. Such a bop.
