Do a search for "The Powell Memo" written in 1971 by future Supreme Court Justice Lewis Powell. It is a clarion call to corporate business warning of the danger an educated citizenry capable of critical thinking poses to them. The dumbing of America is by design and can be traced back to that document. It has resulted in attacks upon public education such that they no longer educate students as train them for employment. They want trained workers, not educated citizens capable of critical thinking. There is a big difference. An example is Ben Carson. Highly trained in one area, so poorly educated he thinks the pyramids were grain silos, making him dumb as a box of rocks. The Liberal Arts & Humanities-- which provide basic critical thinking skills and a broad foundation of knowledge-- are not just rejected, but are even ridiculed. Ironic given how many of those who do so go on and on about "Western Civilization" and that is THE basic educational curriculum representing it. But... as Chris Hedges says... the Liberal Arts curriculum teaches you HOW to think, not WHAT to think.

They've been railing against wokeness for years and you would think these people would have a definition of what they mean by it.

Being "woke" actually means that you are a person who is capable of sympathy and empathy and your are capable of treating all people with respect because you realize everyone is the sum of their own genetic makeup and the sum of their own life experiences/nurture, religious beliefs, etc. and not forcing your set of beliefs on the rest of society but being an equal, respectful, member of said society who believes in a true democracy that has the goal of doing what is best for everyone, which could mean working as a society to achieve big goals, together vs limited goals for select groups who seek to profit off of us all; while at the same time accommodating and respecting one another, and at the same time taking the time to learn where each other come from. VS simply being someone who is AFRAID, and HATES people who are different and do no conform to their world view. It is much harder to be woke than it is to simply HATE.

I've watched far too many videos with people like this woman. My opinion. No one want's to say they don't like anything that not's white, straight, and Christian because then they'd admit to being a hater. Being a admitted hater would destroy the claim of being a loving Christian. It's hard for their minds to handle the internal conflict. Thus the delay in answering the questions.

The _real_ definition of "woke", in case anyone forgot, comes from black americans who invented the phrase "stay woke" (ie. stay aware; stay awake), meaning to be aware of your community and all dangers towards it; "do not sleep on real problems". From there it evolved to a wider "be aware of who your government and larger culture is oppressing and how they are doing it; support those people and combat oppression however you can", which is how it became a word synonymous for support of not only black people in america, but LGBT+, women, the poor, the disabled, all People of Colour and religious minorities. Racists, bigots and sexists then saw the word used in reference and relation to these groups and claimed there was a "woke movement", and they hated it because they hate those groups. For them, "woke" is an annoying word that pops up whenever serious discussions about oppression are afoot, which they don't ever want to confront because they would rather said groups either "know their place" or die out forever. They've tried to obscure the meaning and origin of the word since then but have failed to give it any other true meaning in order to really cover their tracks. This is the true etymology of the word "woke". The next time a MAGA person tries to pull out some half-baked definition of what they think the word is, you will have this knowledge.
