Yes, he said that. It shocked me some. I think a lot of Americans need a really good history lesson. I was raised in the south and the north acted like we southerners were stupid. I lived in GA and SC. I will tell you - the SC classes taught a good bit of history of America and of the civil war. and I ( as a poor white person ) learned a lot about that society. I will say there is a lot of ignorance on the civil war - and before/after. and I think folks need to understand better what it all means.
