I absolutely loved the Godfather series! The first game had an amazing story and character, while the second offered fun gameplay mechanics and a cool crime family management system. They totally should invest more into these kind of games.

JRLM Oh sure, it was the turn of the century. But the fact that in Red Dead everyone’s still riding around on horseback, but in this game there’s a mission where you shoot down someone’s plane after chasing it in a car.. seems worlds apart! They’re separated by the same amount of time as we are from the original release of Mafia haha

That car could be unlocked in the original as well. You had to shoot a tower in a specific way. It is designed to seem out of place, an easter egg of some sort.

Schubert Frigate is supposed to be a 1962 chevy Corvette. Now this is definitely from Mafia 2 which is set in the periods 1948 and 1952 if I remember correctly? So yeah it is a little out of time BUT I think there was an older version of the Corvette but for that I need to see the headlights, if there're two lamps on each side it's the 1962 one, if it has one lamp on each side it's the old one.

In the original Mafia there used to be a glitch in the racing mission where you could skip laps and come out first. Let’s hope they specifically made and kept the glitch here

I dont think that they will be fixed. It still using mafia 3 engine and combat. Even the sounds are the same, even Tommy moves exactly like Lincoln. In simple words, its mafia 3 dressed as mafia. With a few upgrades to the engine so you dont have that terrible lighting and glitches that mafia 3 had. But hey, I am one of the few people that liked mafia 3 so i am going to enjoy this game a lot.

I was part of one of Mafia's greatest mod community, and it was always said that, even though we had the man power and willingness, the engine could not support a remaster. There was a great mod called "City of Lost Dreams" I believe, which gave the game a complete overhaul and put it into the 60's (before Mafia 2 was ever announced). That's why it took so long for this to come out. They actually didn't have other choices but to build it from the ground up.

I can't wait for this, I loved playing the original so much, so many brilliant missions, it remains one of my favourite games and it looks like its remake isn't going to disappoint.

I just want The Godfather, that's all.

haha i remember that mission that's so true. Probably unpopular opinion but i loved how hard it was completing it was one of hte most rewarding gaming experiences. It took me so many tries and a few days since I was still young and new to gaming so wasn't very handy but by the end I felt like an actual racing driver

1,2,3 all connect through Vito but only in a few major ways I’d rather not spoil, definitive edition is just a subtitle, mafia 1 is a complete remake, mafia 2 is a minor graphical upgrade packaged with all dlc and 3 is the game and all it’s dlc

They dont know what hard means. I grew up in the 80s when games were set to impossible mode. Modern games are like a cakewalk compared to the thumb blistering skullf#$%@ I had to deal with when I was 10.

No, the character has a different walking and running animation, what are you on man ?

I’ve wanted to play the original since I played Mafia II five years ago! Awesome, I hope to experience this.

I bought this when it came out and I absolutely loved it. I was in high school and I have been telling everyone how amazing this game was and how they don't make them like that anymore but I know the graphics were outdated. Well, now I can show this to people!

@@XWXS2 If anything recent AAA games have taught me, it is that Alpha versions are final versions, if not graphically superior versions prior to a downgrade.

@@XWXS2 These days they slap the words alpha, early access and beta for full games. For example, fortnite's early access ended 3 years after its lauch xD. This is probably what you will get so don't get your hopes up

does it offer anything else beside the story?

Nope, it's a linear story driven game. It's not a typical open world game with side quests.
