Indeed, but it was probably because McCall was also committed to the cause of his killing. While the mafia had less than 6 minutes left to live, there was still a chance that someone might end up taking him to the hospital and save him, so McCall also makes sure that the mafia was really gone.

One thing that stands out in this finale over the first and second movies is that McCall is on the offensive. The previous two movies, he's up against more professional villains while fighting more defensively on home turf. Here, the villains are little more than thugs and McCall is directly assaulting their ground. He even starts with using a gun!

Exactly, he wasn't waiting for the bad guys to find him he was finnding and ending them before they could be a problem for him I think its because when the movie starts he is shot in the back by that kid and he isn't at his full strength throughout the movie so can't afford to be at a disadvantage.

Like I said in another comment. McCall was playing on easy mode here. These guys were no challenge to him at all. The only challenge for him was deciding how to go about dismantling them. In the last 2 movies he went up against real threats, this time it was like he was playing against children who thought they were adults. Poor guys never stood a chance.

If you watch all 3 movies now 2 or 3 times, you'll notice that Denzel/this story presents McCall as rather "apathetically suicidal" - he doesn't necessarily *want* to die, but he doesn't particularly care if he does die, as long as it's in the service of good. He's still a soldier, but for values that are specific to his worldview rather than a government's. I think he's probably regretful of the destruction he caused in the past, and views his own potential death as a kind of karmic or divine consequence. On top of that, just generally speaking, he is a mildly traumatized veteran with no known family members or kids, no romantic partners, etc.@@djack1231

Their work is done so that no one knows anything and what little evidence may be gathered, it is either planted or planned beforehand. Hollywood may guess at what the CA does, but, they have no REAL CLUE and no one within the org will ever speak about it in person. And that includes to their own families. I believe it was said once that even in a bad movie, a great actor will do his or her part to do the very best in it. Frances McDormand and John malkovich were in the transformer movies along with Sir Anthony hopkins, you had Al Pacino and movies like Gigli and Jack and Jill. You even have Rita Moreno in fast X. Who could forget Raul Julia in Street Fighter? These actors and actresses have a tendency to rise above the quality of the film, no matter what. It's not easy, but it's doable.

I love how this referenced a classic mafia boss death or near death theme. The guy died near oranges as Don Corleone was almost killed in The Godfather and ultimately died surrounded by oranges. As well as Tony in the Sopranos was almost whacked while buying orange juice.

He is a person having duality in his nature. One is the angel which he mostly believes in following a peaceful and smooth life and the other is just the way he turns out evilish in punishing the bad evilish negative elements that interrupt his way of life in complete silence. My favourite one which i would write for my movie reviews.

This movie truly felt like McCall was playing on easy mode. He barely took these guys seriously. They offered zero challenge for him. Honestly the only tense part of the movie was wondering how he would do it. That said, I LOVE this approach. It felt good after seeing him struggle in the last 2, particularly the first. This film hes literallh a terrifying figure. One you clearly, clearly dont want to fuck with.

It shows that this mafia group end their lives not instantly, but painfull at maximum threat. In truth, Denzel didn't have much to do here. These guys are just stupid wiseguys used to abusing civilians who can't fight back. When they're up against a guy with actual combat and black ops skills, they're just clay pigeons for him. Nikolai in the first movie was far more formidable.

Agreed, they really needed a villain who could push Denzel to his limits to the point where it wouldn't be clear if he could come out on top; almost like a dark mirror to his own character who stayed a ruthless killer and never became a "good guy". Liam Neeson would've been perfect for this role.
