I wonder if the most of the Last Jedi Rey figures will be the Resistance outfit or her training robes with the hair down as revealed in the Battlefront 2 character designs.

There's that review! She's a great figure man, glad you enjoy her. Definitely hope they do a version of Finn in the jacket, because uhhh...yeah, that Black series Finn looks pretty dookey dook compared to the Mafex and SHF figures, even amongst other Black series figures he looks pretty bad. Haha, lot of stuff in the mail this week, plus I'm catching up from being gone to cons. I'll definitely try!

Hell, I put the 2017 Celebration exclusive Kotobukiya 0-0-0 & BT-1 in with my figures. I feel bad for the people that are losing sleep over the size problems. Close enough! (They are absolutely beautiful, btw. The paint is really incredible. Depending on the angle and lighting 0-0-0 is either black or a very dark blue-green. And BT-1 looks better in person than I expected.)

I stood and looked at them through the glass at the show. If I had been more familiar with the characters I may have gotten them, they looked awesome.

Here's a quick fix for the arm issue. The peg for the bicep is connected through the upper arm to the elbow joint. For some of the Reys it seems like the left elbow wasn't shoved all the way into the left upper arm. Apply some force to it and more of the bicep peg should poke out of the upper arm, giving a better connection.

just get out the dremel and fix it up. I like some Mafex stuff- like Phasma and troops but this is "meh".....i DO like all the accessories and hopefully somebody out there in the facebook customs groups will make a cast of some of these. Come September we will be getting the first wave of The Last Jedi merch......Ill hold out until then and see what Hasbros release of Rey (Resistance outfit) is all about. For now though Im happy with my Black Series Rey with custom paint apps I applied

Great review and what looks like a great figure. The face is one of the weaker parts and not as good as the promo shots, but I may be in for my first Mafex figure (still waiting for a Mafex Jango as I didn't get either Boba)

You are correct sir about the quality issues with Mafex at times because today I was messing with this Rey and her bottom bun on her head popped off when I was turning the head and tomorrow I will try to super glue it back on. The Mafex Rogue One Darth Vader which I love the most which I own will probably be the last Mafex figure I will buy after this happening today because they cost too much for poor quality like this and now after this happening I better not switch out my Vader's hands anymore. He is not the only Vader I own because I have the 40th anniversary black series and the sh figuarts new hope versions of Vader as well but after this happening to this Rey today I am not switching out hands on the Mafex Rogue One Vader anymore and will just keep the lightsaber gripping hands on because I don't trust Mafex quality anymore after this happening.

Ha. A shoulder pad to cover up the flaw. Then the alternate head options for those not too keen on her facial details/resemblence.

How well or bad does she stand in scale with the Kylo Ren SH Figuarts. I'd love to get her on my shelf due to the amazing number of accessories and how the face actually turned out better than I expected in comparison to the Harley Quinn and Joker MAFEX, while at the same time waiting for the SHF Resistance outfit version.

She's still shorter than the SHF Kylo but looks large, if that makes sense.

The helmet is well done, and it was a cute moment in the film, but I would've much rather had an alternate teeth gritted or smiling head. Otherwise, very happy with how this turned out, can't wait to get mine. Now if Bandai would hurry their asses up and release the Resistence outfit.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how the SHF version stacks up.

At $70 I'm tempted to wait for the version of her that comes with Rey’s Jakku Speeder. But... the helmet might just be the deciding factor.

The face is okay, the articulation of the arm looks horrible but damn the accessories are really one of the best! Escpecially the helmet of Captain Dosmit Raeh. The only thing that doesn't fit is the blaster, which was silver in the movie. All in all I think it's the accessories that make her really stand out, i just which they would do different arms.

You know, I've been anticipating this figure, been blown away by the better face compared to hasbro's and Mafex's Kylo ren, and dug this figure use of gray over the more often used tan color....only to realize that I didn't like her Jakku outfit. 3:17 fir this precise reason and much I prefer her resistance look. SO This leaves me with two likely choices, Bandai or Hasbro. The latter while most likely make one latter this year in time for the Last Jedi, but while Bandai release their's first? I'm going to be to be patient either way.

I am still waiting for my package to arrive from amiami. I did choose the cheapest delivery with tracking. But seeing your review I have something to look forword too. and yes the likenesses is off, but it looks like the promo pictures this time. So we know what to expect.

I received mine today. On mine the loose arm is worse. But if you move the elbow joint up, it does stick a little better. Overal great figure. I have her setup in scavenger look. 3 downsides. She does indeed not really look like daisy ridley, the loose arm, and the color of her outfit. It is too grey. Should be more light brown.

Daisy Ridley and John Boyega are both 5'7"; just as Adam Driver and Gwendoline Christie are both 6'3". I'd say the Mafex Rey's about right. I wasn't planning on picking this up, but this may be my first Medicom figure (along with Boba, when I decide which version).

Hot Toys lied to us. Honestly, at that price, there's no excuse for such an egregious discrepancy in height between them; at this scale it's fine, especially considering we're mixing different company's products.

Mafex Rey's height isn't "about right" on the 1/12 scale... Too tall. Just like Robo said: Rey (Daisy) is 5ft 7in. and this Mafex figure is "five and 7/8ths" = 5.875inches, so when you upscale from 1/12 to 1/1, she would be 70.5 inches, which converts to 5ft 10.5inches, taller than Luke and Kenobi, wtf... she's suppose to be 5ft 7in... Black Series scale is on point, but I'd rather wait and buy the S.H. figuarts Rey Anyway, agreed that Hot Toys fudged up as well, Finn is too tall. He's gotta be shortened. But, Boyega is 5ft 8.5in , not 5ft 7....

This is a rare occasion where I like the black series better than the import.

The thing I can't get out of my head is that robo has seen Twilight

I was hoping it would look better, but it's not awful. She's definitely too pale and too made up. She also looks older than she should. The outfit is too dark as well. I'm glad I held off. Hopefully it won't be too long before the Figuarts Resistance version comes out. Great review!

I thought the same about the outfit color but reference pics are split. In some they are this grey. It's really weird. But yeah, I can't wait to see if SHF will take this one to school.

I finally got her yesterday, but I am really disappointed. Her waist joint is so weak, she came apart when I tried to stop her slouch. Her left arm at the shoulder pops out with any movement. Such a buzz kill :(

Is it just me that thinks the colour is off? The colour seems closer to her outfit at the end of the force awakens. It's particularly noticeable with the mask, which is the colour she should be. Robes-wise.

Adam Driver is 6'2"

I recently bought the 40th anniversary obi wan 6 inch figure but it keeps bothering me how he can't sit down. If you happen to have an extra one could you do a tutorial showing us how to put on a fabric skirt. I'm broke and don't want to waste my money ruining the figure if the fabric doesn't work out. If you read this and decide to make a video, thank you.

Agree, and they are all nice and useful, not just filler. Love it.

This figure seems cool however I think it shows that Hasbro's sculpts are pretty damn good for the price. Its just the paints that fail them. I actually repainted the face and clothes of mine to good enough for the shelf results. This face sculpt is just not good enough for the price for me.

Another great review, Robo. I agree with your overall feel and most of your points. On the negatives, I think she does indeed have a bitchface (contrary to Daisy in the movie), AWFUL arms (disproportionate, asymmetrical, weird elbows), and the size is kinda wrong...but you know what? Mafex is indeed heading into (hopefully) greener grass with these releases. They still need to fix important stuff, but I doubt that the future SHF Rey wil provide what to me constitutes the saving grace of this figure: the insane amount of great-looking, fun and charismatic accesories. I'd say the figure is a solid 7/10 for me,considering the QC issue with the arm, weak ankle joints and etc. I'm looking forward to these two companies going head-to-head trying to outdo the competition in quality releases.

Head sculpt ruined it for me, if they came out with 2.0 with better face id get its

I thought the same at first about the grey of the clothes but reference pictures are all over the place. It depends on what background she's standing against. Sometimes they are tan, sometimes they look like this.

You should do your reviews at all different times and vary things up. It seems like you ONLY review figs at the end of the day. Try the start of the day or the middle of the day. Variety is the spice of life! You my friend may be in a rut. But, at the end of the day it's up to you.
