I think they’re seriously overpriced for what you’re getting. Most imports are these days.

*MAFEX are pricey but when they drop a classic Magneto, it’s a definitive version, nearly perfect. You won’t need another one. As opposed to ML where they incentivize you to buy a new one with minor improvements over the last one every couple of years.*

Cyclops 6.3" Storm 5.11 Magneto 6.2" Mafex got the heights right.Storm is shorter than Magneto you're measuring her hair lol.

This is the best 1:12 scale Magneto we've ever seen, hands down. Also, agreed that that Storm costume design is intended to be high-gloss black and was interpreted over time to look more white. I'm gonna be using this as my Capcom Storm, since her main costume color in that first X-Men: Children of the Atom was light silver/white.

Mafex Psylocke and you can have an actual MSP team.

One of the reasons of what I love about Robo is not only he plays with figures but his Play Days are awesome especially this one because sometimes he gives me great tips on what and how I should customize some of my fun own action figures with either swapping heads, hands, or add a blast effect, overall, Great video.

Really hope/dread MAFEX makes a hooded version of this Cyke, a black suited Storm, a 90's Deadpool and any re-release of the prior two Wolverines, preferably the blue and gold repainted w/ black tiger stripes. Then again they usually release so infrequently that I can probably fool myself that I can afford them all.

Mafex usually releases 2-3 a month, and It's insane how all 5 got released almost at the same time! (not to mention JL Cyborg, Nightwing and Steel)

Mafex Cyclops without the visor is still nightmare fuel! I really would love to see a company do Magneto's torso panels and the shadow on just his eyes. It's like Cap, no matter how good the 20th Anniversary one looks, it always looked off to me and I couldn't figure out why until I saw the Select version; that shading on the forehead and under the eyes suddenly makes it Steve

Hmmmm, maybe I'll try painting the nose and mouth and blend it up to shadow and white eyes on the helmeted shadowed out head.

This is an expensive play day but glorious!

The Mafex Storm is a great figure, but I'm happy enough with my Marvel Legends Storm where I don't feel the need to splurge for the Mafex Storm. Magneto on the other hand is a COMPLETELY different story! The Mafex Magneto looks fantastic and looks like an astronomical upgrade over the Marvel Legends Magneto!

Mafex X-Men are just GOD tier at the point. Love all of these keep them coming Medicom.

Little detail but I really appreciate the neck warmer cowl thingy for when it's down. Stuff like this makes the price closer to worth it for me....even though I will likely only mess with it once or twice.

Their X-Men are solid, but their Avengers figures have me worried. Iron Man was already questionable (nice paint and sculpt but undersized and scrawny), but man, that new Mafex Thor looks ROUGH lol

Let’s go playday

After getting Nightwing, of course, I had to go back and pickup Hush Batman in black. Was a bit pricey, but luckily got him through BBTS. Got that Magneto and looking forward to the Thor

Can't wait to get Magneto! Cyclops I was surprised just how good the glasses head looked and kept him displayed with it longer than I usually do. Him without the hood also reminded me of a great story where he goes up again Master Mold and almost demolishes him single handedly. Storm I will get if they release it in a black/silver paint job, as the white ML is fine with me and I don't quite like the black costumed variant. MAFEX is really killing it, though, and I hope they continue to broaden their Marvel releases.

I passed on all these. I do want to backtrack and get the X-Force figures. The MAFEX barrage only hit me with Nightwing and Steel thankfully. Love both of them. Glad you're taking a look at these. Love your MAFEX reviews.

Steel looks amazing, but I can only afford so much. It’s Nightwing, Magneto, and Thor for me.

MAFEX needs to cut loose with a chromed up classic costumed Colossus figure. It’s possibly my most wanted figure that doesn’t exist. Yet.

CastingCave had that same head on sale but fitted for this Mafex release. I was able to snag one before they sold out hopefully he puts more up. Thank you for the content Robo your enthusiasm is infectious.

I always saw the costume as white but I think it looks better in black. In the end I just saw it as she wears multiple costumes. And honestly that makes more sense than wearing the same outfit everyday - unless you're Einstein or Ernest P. Warrel. All that said, Storm and Mags are amazing in hand. Steel on the DC side is too.

I’m in awe at how accurate they get the “Jim Lee” look:) I’m gonna jump for joy when they finally release a beast with a white lab coat 🥰 and a professor X with the classic yellow chair… and a nightcrawler❤ with some dope accessories! FYI- if you are too disappointed in the cyclops or any other Mafex and don’t want them clogging up your display… you can always donate to my “I’m broke and struggling” charity ;)

An eBay seller I frequent had the MAFEX IG-11 and Hush figure for sale at a great price, which tempted me but I ultimately skipped. I think I've been done with imports for a while, I just had to set a limit somewhere and them along with things like Mezco are just off the table for me. My first experience with MAFEX was the ROTJ Boba Fett which I still love, but then their Carnage despite me really liking it bugged me with the loose arm that would fall off, and I really felt like I couldn't risk dropping that amount of money again if something like that happened. Don't get me wrong I can still admire those figures from afar, they look excellent, but I'm okay with the other offerings that are more affordable.

Oh man, that MAFEX IG-11 is great, although I'm not sure if I modded that one or the SHF to be IG-88.

Mafex dominating the 1/12 scale, DC and Marvel Comics figure market in 2023. I like all mine accept for Cyclops, with it's messy paint and loose right knee. The rest are the definitive versions in their scale. Then you got their Nightwing and Steel offerings which are even better.

That Magneto might be my figure of the year. Storm looks great too, but I want it in silver. I don't think that costume is black or white, I think it's supposed to be silver. MAFEX or even Hasbro needs to do a silver re-paint.

I really want a red repaint of that x-force deadpool. He's got the perfect look and body just in the wrong colors for my shelf. Might repaint him myself if I ever come across a k.o. version.

I literally got my Magneto from DHL in the middle of watching this video. I gotta say, this magneto is amazing for me and has a certain presence and look that I wasn't getting from videos/photos. Definitely my second favorite of the ones I own after Gambit!

Not a whole lot new for SW at your Target, but that's to be expected. Great beach ball vinyl tip for white SW capes. 👍 Love the accessories (dig & raccoon) with Groot, but don't really need a Groot. Short Round!!!! Score. But that card wrap/creasing is wild. Maybe moisture related? Too much humidity while in transit from China. Hmm. Thanks for letting us tag along once again Vern.

Tasty gray, delicious brown. Man you are killing me 😂 and I'm loving it. Keep up the funny comments they stand you out from the rest in a good way.

I ALMOST put that in the thumbnail but stared at it too long and freaked myself out.

That's a big haul! I got Storm and Magneto (and more importantly, Nightwing, which I *know* you will review, Robo!), but my Wolverine came in especially messed up and I had to return it. Deadpool I'm on the fence about, and after the Wolverine qc thing (and his lack of accessories), I might just only end up grabbing the inevitable Uncanny X-Force Psylocke. If my Magneto didn't have a shin that's lighter than the rest of the figure, he'd be my definitive Magneto. I'm not a fan of the non-circular effects or black head, would've def preferred those be cut for another helmeted head sculpt, but everything else about the figure just works. The cape's good to me, since at least it's not Hush Batman levels of unwieldy. Storm is great for how simple she is. Love the colours on her and the face sculpts are *perfect.* The only thing that bothers me is how fiddly the cape is when swapping out hands. Wish it was wired as well but with how thin it's meant to be, I can kinda let it slide.

Yeah, I definitely have to remind myself to hold that cape and those bracelets when swapping Storm's hands. And agree about Magneto's cape. I called it cumbersome but not in a bad way, just that there needs to be some thought put into it before pulling and pushing. But nowhere near Amazing Yamaguchi puzzle capes.

A pretty lineup. I think my favorite here is Storm.

Deadpool got delayed so many times I honestly didn't think it would drop this year, but thankfully, it did. He's a great figure. All of the recent Mafex comic figures have been pretty impressive. They're seriously killing it.

prob has been said but the reason for the sheaths on DP not being "functional" is if the blades are painted then eventually you will get paint rub/ paint chipping, the new SHF Trunks has a working sheath and one issue people have had is chipping paint

Mafex c-men are amazing. Legends are still my only essential X-men line just due to character roster. Bot lines are amazing though

Mafex really likes Jim Lee, hell I really like Jim Lee. His versions of characters, be them Marvel or DC, is what my mental image of those characters is.

This is how I have mine displayed! Wish Mafex included an angry head with white eyes rather than the 'shadow' head. Props for trying though

I really hope they reissue their tiger stripe and brown suit Wolverines, and Cyclops, with some tweaks to the problem areas on those. Cyclops' legs loved to pop off the hip ball joints. Tiger stripe Wolvie's shoulderpads were prone to snapping. Brown suit Wolvie had some bad tolerances in the torso.

That's cool that the Cyclops is an Adam Cole fan, he's got the "Bay Bay!" p;ointiing finger hands lol

that torse pop off jump scare scared the hell out of me considering I just had a mafex breakage myself where my mafex caution tape Harley wrist split apart a minute into opening it🤦😑. That line work & amount of paint bleeding is atrocious on this Cyclops mix with the wrong look has convinced me to skip this Cyclops & hope for a 90's reissue. I'm probably gonna get x-force wolverine & deadpool but I'm hesitant on wolverine because I was afraid his arms were gonna keep popping off like the mafex brown suit & tiger stripe did but they seemed to have fixed it with the x-force verison. I really like the mafex storm outside my heads was really hard to pop off & pop back on that I said the angry head is staying on forever. Still waiting on my magneto but it looks good.

I only order the Magneto..but planning to buy Wolvi.

Man, I went with the Revoltechs and it seems they've stopped making X-men figures. Well it's been a while. I liked their take on the characters. Now I'm thinking I should have went with Mafex.

i thought Magneto was bigger also. So had to look at my old X-men Jim Lee cards but saw that Cyclops is taller than Magneto by an inch

I wouldn’t doubt Mafex doing black suit Storm. We need Rogue next. I have a feeling they’re doing the #1 Jim Lee triple spread. If that’s true; Rogue, Beast, Colossus, Archangel, and Professor X is all we have left. So about two years. As much as I want to finish the team, I want more villains too. Sabertooth and Juggernaut would be cool. I can see Mystique and Dark Phoenix down the road too.

31:18 I feel like this is one of the few figures to have the proportions I like. Bigger quads would be nice but at least he doesn’t have a massive head like Legends do.

Torn between getting Magneto or Storm because on one hand, I already have the Revoltech Magneto which is a fantastic figure but I hate the cape and I'd prefer the clothed cape of the Mafex version. On the other hand, I don't have a Storm for my Marvel vs Capcom display.

Watching robo say "and how dare they picture the correct black costume and package the white one" brings me relief to know robo is just confused. thats definitely the white costume pictured there

If I were to get a Deadpool figure not sure if I want the X-force from MAFEX or the Deadpool 2 from S.H.Figuarts.

Its much too expensive for me, but I love Storm and Magneto here. Especially since I missed out on white Storm from Hasbro and got a black one instead. The Magneto I have just sucks in general. I used quicksilvers head for it, which worked better haha.

I did indeed get Nightwing and Huntress, may have to review them together sometime.

I always thought Storm's costume was a kind of satin gunmetal color. There are plenty of comic characters with clearly black costumes (Havok, Venom, Black Cat, US Agent; heck, just look at her original costume), and I don't think I ever got the impression hers was meant to look like theirs, it was definitely different (although also definitely not white either). At the same time, it was not as blatantly silver as someone like Silver Sable. That said, I'm liking the Mafex figure a lot, and I would be fine with double dipping if they do a gunmetal color option (maybe even triple dip if they do her classic Claremont costume).

Will you be getting the Mafex Huntress from the Hush line? Still waiting on mine, but lots of people have started getting theirs 😒

I haven't received mine yet. Got every version from a collection. I didn't think to ask- is Wolverine the proper scale? ie; at LEAST a head shorter than slim/Scott?

The MAGEX heads have tiny sockets, would need some mods. Although I didn't check to see if they actually have plugs. On the first Wolverine you could pull that and they fit Legends neck balls fairly well.

Scott's on a Team with his favorite people. Why wouldn't he be Smiling? Plus I think he's still has Chrisopher in his care (Scott never called him Nate as a Baby since he hated the name).

Personally the X-Force grey color unforms doesn't match each other, because Logan's gray pattern is darker which it made sense since this was debut in the 2008's X-Force when Cyclops recruiting Logan along with X-23 and Warpath, tho Logan's wing flaps(?) are the same sizes of classic brown costume's in the comics. I'm not Deadpool fan, but yeah the Marvel NOW! modern red suit is from 2010s.

I don’t think it’s paint bleed on the cyclops. I think they did shading on the white using blue instead. Even the promo pictures show that blueish tint on the whites

Anyone know if there is a massive, mid healing version of Wolverine that is around this level of quality ? It'd be AMAZINGLY AWESOME if Wolverine came or could come with alternate panels for body parts and head etc that had varying degrees of damage-cuts, gun shots etc- NOT gory but showing skeletal parts...I'd gladly pay more for it. Someone should start working on..."upgrade" kits for all of these including marvel legend and gi joe, McFarland etc. Like people do for transformers. Sorry for all the comments. Long time fan and life long love with comics and cartoons etc but only recently awarded for service by the DOD so I'm new to collecting and have so many questions. Thank you for your articulated icons! Can someone special order older offerings of your figures or is there unsold stock of them somewhere? I admire your integrity regarding not having a lot of self promotion but you could have short updates or specific videos...I only found out about them due to D Amazing. Also love his work. Noticing as well as sharing a positive experience, interaction and so forth. Even if the interaction was above and beyond the expectations surrounding. Should I get the wolverine or the Deadpool

seeing the mafex wolverine next to the hasbro one really puts into perspective how much hasbro struggles with superhero proportions and anatomy. with the small droopy shoulders and weird torso/ head and neck shapes. everything just looks… off when compared to a figure with proper proportions and anatomy. that’s one of the only things that keeps me hesitant when it comes to marvel legends. here’s to hoping they only continue to get better!

The cyclops 90's Jim Lee I think is acurate the 90's were a weird time for fashion too usually at that era mens bikinis sit higher on the waist. And seeing the source material it is accurate.
