I think Mafex's way of their fig holding the shield is superior to SHF's peg holes system. The shield would fall so easily on the SHF final battle cap.

This is what I feel as well, having one fixed strap at least means we have one strong handle that won't fall off. I have the SHF Endgame Final Battle Ver. Of Captain America and the shield falls off sometimes.

Pretty sure you have to use both the small straps when attaching it to his back and not the large and small combo. Super helpful review!

The engineering used to attach the shield to his back seems kinda strange. Also i really hoped that Mafex would come up with a better idea to strap the Shield to his Arms....😑 I totally agree that the head sculpts look pretty good. His body proportions also look alot more movie accurate to me. Great Review, thanks DC 🙏😅

Could have just as easily been a peg that inserts into both the shield and back. And I hate that Mafex never previewed the fact that the spinning Mjolnir effect needed the ugly stand to hold it up. Much like the stupid stand for their Mandalorian flame thrower effect. Bit sneaky of Medicom.

Nice review! I'm actually excited that his shields can be held by other figures (the Figuarts can only be held by Cap because there are no open straps to grab onto). I do like how they realized the shield sits lower on Cap's back and wish more figures took that into consideration (unlike MLs that just put a peg in the middle of the shield to stick to the top of Cap's back, making the shield sit too high IMO). At the very least it looks like parts from this figure will look great with other figures or in photos (like the empty helmet).

So for the shield you’re supposed to use the smaller strap from the broken shield to attach to his back it won’t look as far still overly thought on design. Loving my cap I have him with the Nota Head sculpt absolute perfection.

Mafex did a pretty great job on this guy imo & considering all the accessories an excellent value too (if you purchased from a Japan retailer). Masked & unmasked face likenesses look pretty good & better than any other 1:12 scale issues to date & more buff body sculpt proportions blows away the SHF comparables imo. Only negative I see is that flare out of the chest armor towards the bottom (as you noted) but not a deal breaker for me as consider just a minor flaw (as not as obvious when in various action poses). I prefer the colors of the suit much better than other 1:12 scale comparables too. Engineering on the shield attachments for throwing hand & on-back are less complicated than SHF which is a plus. If the spinning Mjolnir requires a stand to display w/the fig. holding it that should be shown in the ad pics imo. My score would be a 9.0 as delivers on almost all my expectations. Thanks for the detail review.

Sorry, haven't heard before.

the head sculpt looks pretty good but the upper torso is pretty gappy and the shoulder pats were never like that in the movie (actually in that regard I think figuarts did the figure better but with an awful headsculpt), the feet issue s could be fixed easily by making that lower part eithera soft plastic or just have the boot cover as a separated piece that goes over the feet. other than that it does looks solid but not like a definitive version of this cap suit

I cancelled my order that I have been waiting for since the summer of 2019 as soon as I saw the size comparison because I’m don’t want another tiny cap. I thought he would scale better with other non import lines. Super disappointed 😔

@@russell9758 I give it a 8.5. Here are my thoughts and comparisons. Mafex Endgame Cap vs Mafex Infinity War Cap Mafex Endgame figure is heavier, slightly better plastic. Tighter joints in the arms. The arms lay better at the sides. More inner thigh swivel. Shoulder pads are more accurate and don't stick out as much. Mafex Infinity War figure has more movie accurate headsculpts. Better looking torso area. I still prefer the Infinity War more for display because of the darker colours, dirty outfit and accurate neutral bearded headsculpt. Mafex weapons vs Manipple weapons Mafex Mjolnir handle is more accurately detailed. Manipple Mjolnir has better dimensions and paint. Mafex damaged shield broken end, paint scuffs and scratches are very detailed, realistic and accurate. Manipple damaged shield feels heavier and better quality, but the scuffs and scratches look more like dirt.

@@DCSG81 Yeah. Quality is better on the Endgame and it is a better overall figure. But it is just a preference thing. I just love the very accurate bearded head and the darker colours of the Infinity War figure. The arms out to the side don't bother me too much, as that is how he is standing when the train goes past his for his badass intro in the movie.

I would have died of laughter if your opening skit had an earrape Avengers theme come out of nowhere after you opened the box again to successfully find the figure in their. 😂 Anyway, actually feeling a little heartbroken to see how this figure ultimately turned out despite all the wait. I'm sorry about your loose head, I beg to God mine won't be having QC issues. The torso/waist issue isn't exactly a deal-breaker for me as for me personally, it can be overlooked. Plus won't be a problem when you get him in action poses. Ashame he actually can't support the spinning Mjolnir effect without the use of a stand. (Really great they actually give you that but wish it was shown in the promo images.) The whole putting the shield on his back setup is weird as fuck to me. Like you can make it work I'm sure given time but the SHF one wins this for me. (I know what y'all mean the shield falling off easily on the SHF one but honestly what do you y'all do with your Cap's that it's a big issue for y'all? 😂The whole idea is if he'll be having the shield on his back is because he's most likely in a neutral or just standing stance. The shield won't be coming off then so long as you're careful. 😂) I do absolutely love though that he's a bit richer in color compared to his clean version counterpart SHF. Where the SHF one has red areas, that shit can really be appearing as a form of brown and on the Mafex one it's clearly bolder and can easily be recognized as red. The blue is definitely better too on the Mafex one. Headsculpts, all look gorgeous but final judgement will be given once I have mine in-hand. If it lives up to my hype, I would have saved myself money from have spent on Manniple accessories given this figure comes with it all. (took their damn time though 🤣) Battle ready masked face, teeth gritted masked face, more than fair accuracy unmasked head, spinning Mjolnir effect, broken shield, Mjolnir AND even a little lightning effect to go with your Mjolnir, Imma laugh if honestly this figures turns out as an absolute win for me. 😂 Great review as always DCSG. Best of luck to you all when y'all get your copies of the figure.

For me the best worthy capt is from Marvel Legends, body proportion and head sculpt is so good for the price, the only cons is the shield is only damaged shield and not the broken shield

Not worth the wait, only good thing is head sculpts. I can a little accept the ugly on top pancake shoulders and boots,but the torso. Mafex tried to hide those ugly hideous gaps from the promo photos, no pic of direct frontal pose at all. Just cancelled my order with amimi.

Disappointing for something that was 13 months late. For the MCU figures, I'm only collecting endgame, so this is probably still a better choice than SHF because SHF continues to make their figures smaller than 1/12

A stand to support the spinning mjolnir?😂The head sculpts are soft and sub par. This was not worth the wait. ML is better IMO. And the back connection is laughable.
