My grandfather Albert Brady was born in Maesteg & came to Canada in 1917. I went, in 2008, to find where he was born & they hand wrote a copy of his birth certificate for me which I still have today. Great town with amazing people and it was lovely to walk where my grandfather had walked. Stay well Maesteg!

I went to Plasnewydd school from 1940 to 1948 then returned to London when my Dad was discharged from the mines. It had about five brass bands one being the Salvation Army band. I sang in the Nantyffyllon children’s quite conductor Dan Jenkins, I met his daughter a few years later when she became my schoolteacher in St. Marylebone, London.. who remembers when we had the snow in 1947 and we still wore short trousers to school!? And of course Councillor Ithel Thomas who was also my school teacher.

Now do an up to date video with all the empty shops in maesteg and show the old tree in the old mans bus shelter thats about to be torn down because some idiot wants a "cultural hub" and tell the truth about all the jobs lost in the market because of the over priced rent the council want and the fact we dont have a hospital fate up the park no more because the council started to charge for use of the park because they saw £££ instead we got to use the outdoor market which holds about 3 attractions. Maesteg is going to be a ghost town before long and its all thanks the bridgend county borough council!
