Burma. 90% are persecuted Karen people.

@@diasporastudios interestingly enough, there are about 5000 Karen’s living in Amarillo, Texas. How many are in Mae La?

@@williamwallace8945 yes. Due to their persecution in Myanmar, many have been able to seek refugee status in the US. Though there are 46,000 in this camp (and 140,000 in all the camps) there are 215,000 in the US including 8,500 in St Paul and 5,000 in Nebraska. Many more in Texas, California, etc.. Around 1,000,000 are in Thailand.
