To be clear for everyone else doing this level. I just finished the main story with 95 crystals. The achievement requires 93 crystals. I am guessing on the two levels with the separate path, (Indian quad + this Kayak) going back to collect crystal the opposite path you chose, is NOT needed.

These games are still best played with Tank Controls. The camera is fine. Just so happy you can save anytime in Tomb Raider 3. The level of difficulty and challenges are incredibly difficult in the original game. Its classic Tomb Raider and its great.

As a kid, I would always take the kayak behind the hatch. I really had no idea about how to take another path through the level. Of course I used to see the bridges, crystals and paths along the rapids, but I could only wonder how to get there and since I always managed to beat the level, I never really cared. And I would always hit the red ropes, activating traps haha... now for the first time I ventured through unknown parts of the level for me. Even found out there's another kayak. And that glitch to go up the waterfall and take the first kayak, what the heck was that? How do people find out these things? hahaha... Thank you.

Also the achievement list is really telling, there are 2 kayaks to finish the level.

I love TR 1 and 2, but 3 is kinda....meh. By the way: You dont need all Crystals for the Achievement, only 93 now. So no need to pick up 9 in this Level!

Warning: This is not a walkthrough! They didn't even complete the level. The video abruptly ends after they pick up the last crystal. 😔

😊 There should be a trophy, for getting up to the cave entrance in the Kayak, like you did.

I really hate Madubu Gorge 🤣 impossible to pass without getting hurted 😅 Good job with this video.

I agree, this level has always been a bitch for me because of controlling the kayak.

16:30 is literally impossible, I have no idea how you did it. Thanks goodness I've picked South Pacific for last because getting the all crystals achievement AND all the secrets for All Hallows at the same time is going to be impossible without restarting from this level.

It worked for me, it took me 30 mins and about 6-7 reloads to do it, but i did it! tip is to save halfway up the rock on the last bit and then if you mess up you can just load from there

It was definitely frustrating for me but don't give up! Pause at 17:12, you can stop pushing forward and save right there, getting to that spot is the hardest part. Then if you fall on the next part, just load your save file. Then hold forward and a little right so that Lara occasionally paddles twice in a row on the right side, but don't push too far right. Eventually you'll work your way up. The last tricky part is stopping. The top level of the waterfall doesn't push you, so it's easy to overshoot the ledge. I did that the first time I got to the top, and I fell down in the pit, then I couldn't exit the kayak so I had to load and try again.

@@mike.t.drinkwater Hey, did you have any difficulty grabbing the ledge at 18:48? I've just spent an eternity doing that kayak trick, finally got it, only to find she wouldn't grab that damn ledge! Even though it looks like she can easily reach it, she just won't hold onto it (tried with both tank and modern controls). I'm so frustrated... 🥲

Dude, the last crystal was not there,when I wanted to get it. In the boat it was still there, but in the end it was not there anymore and I didn't collect it. I had only 8 crystals. Glitch?

OK, I found out, what I did wrong. You must aktivate the green rope on 22:44 and then the damn crystal shows up. God, If someone makes videos like this, they should at least include a description, too. So, no Glitch.

turn on tank controls and old graphics. It's much easier to see that you're high enough on the rock to start trying to swim up the slightly less vertical part of the waterfall (17:51).

Save your game somewhere around 24:10 in the video and just keep trying. I had to reload my save file several times to get that one.

same as all other vehicles: end+left/right. You need to be in still water though

In the 90's TR 3 had a severe bug with the camera. It was unplayable when it would occur look it up

The 90’s version is more spooky as well due to lack of rendering and drawback. Not being able to see all the way to the back of an area is creepy as hell…..feels like you’re being watched
