It was already written by him before madonna came along and had it laying around in his studio. He couldn't get anyone to sing it or didn't know who to give it to, then Madonna picked it up, brush it up, made it better with orchestral arrangement and viola.

I’m currently 17 who’s just barely getting into Madonna’s work and I have to say that this song is truly amazing. It makes me feel nostalgic for a time I wasn’t born in. I only wish I was born sooner to experience the music that came out during this time. This song has been stuck on repeat and now has become my favorite Madonna song of all time.

I was born in 1980, so I don't remember a time without Madonna! This has always been one of my favorite songs by her, but album wise, True Blue will always be my number one.

This MV should've 1B views at least. Her 80s & 90s hits are 10x better than half the crap she is putting out these days. Just to keep up with the younger generation. I miss watching The Box channel. Whoever grew up in the 90s knows what I am talking about. Seeing her MV on repeat.

I would have fainted! I am 47 years old, and was in college when this song and album came out. I worked at a record store during college, and I played this CD from beginning to end during my shifts! I loved Madonna ever since her debut album, and bought every single album she released, until "Music," and then she just started losing her touch. But, if I was in the same studio as her when she was recording this album, I would totally be stalking her, waiting to ask for an autograph and picture with her!

Through the magic of Babyface this deservingly so became her longest running #1 at 7 weeks. Using the pentatonic scale and Asian Dorian mode in the string arrangement it reminds me how sophisticated and beautiful Pop music can be. I'm fortunate to have grown up in this era. The 90s showcased artists at their best. This is beautiful art. simply put.

Gabriel, you've dropped a little gem here. i had no idea what the pentatonic scale. Babyface had the entire decade on lock. People would just see his tiny signature on the back of a CD and just grab regardless of who was on the cover.

Yes, If we manage to avoid looking at the poor bull dying, especially at the end. Maybe if Hispanics had actually been able to win a real war against the white "gringos" at any time in the last 400+ years, they wouldn't have to take it out on the poor bulls. But from the time of the Spanish Armada through Trafalgar up to the more recent Falklands War, they have gotten completely clobbered by whitey in a fair fight. That's gotta bother them.

Without question her masterpiece. The story, video, production, mix, babyface, LYRICS… I was like 3-4 years of age if that but absolutely love Music. This was a different era, completely different. Just listen to the words. Perfection. 🖤🖤

Ghosttown or those videos in 2019 could not be compared to Take A Bow, the artistry here is phenomenal. Even the production price is not comparable, record companies simply don’t invest in music videos nowadays. Not to mention Madonna is no longer the current top 10 selling artists. Resources won’t be allocated to her.

Madonna is responsible for the way "Take a Bow" turned out. She cowrote and coproduced it, and the beautiful, Asian-inspired orchestrations were HER idea, not his. Babyface had never worked with a live orchestra prior to the production of this song.
