    I agree with each of you and will add I feel it's just in the last year or so that Madge at least on the surface seems a bit conflicted. Madonna is still Madonna past and present. I only wish for her to slightly snap out of societies forced pop culture image. If that makes sense?

    "Mo" and Ro's" attempt at yoga was one of the most hilarious things I've seen! 😆 Madonna was in a great place at this time with Motherhood, sprituality (Cabalism) and her yoga.....and you could just hear it in her music! There was an ethereal beauty in her work of this era that has stood the test of time beautifully. I want old Madonna back!

    That is the epitome of Madonna quotes, “I don’t work out anymore; I do yoga!” After doing yoga since 2013, anywhere from 3-7 days a week-and getting a six pack and toned body, and overall chilled mentality-I can safely say that she’s right.

    Andrew Lloyd Webber required she take voice lessons for Evita, and you can certainly hear the positive effects of that training in her phrasing in the songs on this album. Although she has never claimed to be a musician, she is without doubt a musician on this album. It's her most perfect album.

    As a "yogi" myself, I thought that this was the BEST era of Madonna, musically, culturally, etc. She was chilled-out, an active Ashtanga practitioner, and a new mother. A fun fact many people likely don’t know-the way the entire _Ray Of Light_ album is arranged, it can be a full yoga class soundtrack. It’s perfect for it, and the songs are perfectly timed. I’ve done it at a studio! 😆 I loved how Madonna’s music and style developed as a whole in the years between 1996-2006. From her vocal strengthening on "Evita" to the Indian style in 1997-98, then 'Beautiful Stranger' on Austin Powers in 1999, then the amazing album MUSIC in 2000. This was followed by the phenomenal _Drowned World Tour_ in 2001… then "American Life", "Hollywood", "American Pie" and "Die Another Day" were great. I think she had some amazingly creative years during that time.

    She was a good live singer during this period. She had a voice coach. This performance however was a stunningly well done lip sync, complete with an orchestra and synth player who looked like they were playing. She did a really good live of Ray of Light on Oprah around then- same idea but she sang live on a hot Mic with herself on the album. Easier for Tv I guess.

  • @erikm8372

    @erikm8372

    I think Oprah demands her guests to sing live, and when they haven’t, she shades them subtly. Example: Mariah Carey in 1997, singing the VERY difficult (and emotional) song ‘Butterfly’. She was admittedly sick, and sounded hoarse from traveling, so not in the best vocal condition. The only live parts were the first verse and the final line of the song. And they were audibly cracky and hoarse. Somehow the rest of the performance was A+ perfection. And very uncannily similar to the album… Oprah looked suspicious the entire performance. Then as they went to commercial after the song, Oprah says, “…and that’s the new CD. And we’ll be right back.”

  • @erikm8372

    I think singing with the recording, aka live-over-audio, is fine, if the person can be heard clearly. Really, it just adds to an overall fuller sound. As a musician myself, there have been many times where I’ve had to perform alone for various gigs or concerts, and the only real option I had was to use apps & software to recreate the "band" I was playing with. It wouldn’t have been the same at ALL had I just gone out there solo. And still, people back then were acting like I SHOULD have! 🤔 😂 Hilarious. Lol. "Why are you playing with the MP3?" Or "are you ever gonna play without the CD". Sure, would you like me to? I guarantee it’ll be highly underwhelming! Hahaha

She like completely changed her face w botox and fillers and just keeps trying to be "cool" and "relevant" at 65. What's the point when u were famous and the "it girl" for so long?
