Um, no. This song was not released in the North America at all, so it never charted. It was a hit in the UK, however. Why would anyone think this song was a hit in the US?

Thank you DDJ! Indeed I remember there was also a problem with the copyright of Into the groove, both songs were in the Soundtrack of "Vision Quest", and the first issue of "Like a virgin" LP couldn't use the song "Into the groove". They successed to use it for the re-issue, but not for Gambler..

@@sashalaryukov5008 I believe you’re referring to Crazy for you, since ITG was from the movie Desperately seeking Susan. I’ve read that CFY and G were never included in the LAV album, while ITG was included on the reissue of the album in summer 85 but not in the US market. One argument I’ve heard about some songs of hers not being included in any album (like G, WTG, CAC, look of love, time stood still) is that such a movement would kill off any demand for the ost albums that originally included them. I remember asking a music store employee in 1999, whether paradise was or would be released as a single. He smiled and said “who would buy the mirwais album then?” And I believe that on similar grounds neither beautiful stranger nor American pie were released as physical singles in the US.

@@dimitris2268 Yes you're right I made a mistake! Maybe Madonna could find some deal with the Warner Bros, to include ITG on the LP and later on the compils and "You can dance", but couldn't with Gambler and CFY which are under "Geffen Records" ?

I love this remember on her first album it was on it but now it's not for some strange reason
