You can see from this interview why Johnny Carson was so beloved. Despite the fact that he may not have understood Madonna's fashion choices or her perspective, he still treated her with genuine interest and respect.

@colinmcdonald2499

@@dennis5806 agree. He was epically good at asking direct questions without crossing the line. Of his contemporaries, the later Dick Cavett would rub his junk all over the line, painful to watch late 70's Cavett. It took Conan decades to master his awkward creepy schtick ( it became pretty polished later on) . Leno was only ever a professional talking about cars or maybe cuts of meat. Other than that Leno telegraphed sarcasm or satire like a starving person gobbling down a handful of Slim Jims. Letterman was occasionally funnier than Carson just tiptoeing the line. But sometimes he just sucked, and he respected no lines. I don't know if it was the influence of Coke ( as in blow) and Xanax or what was Letterman's deal sometimes. Carson was consistently, direct, funny, smart and decent....and his voice. His voice was what made him the GOAT.

@njplr
9 жыл бұрын
mantra3000 Clearly, you haven't spent too much time on YT, if you think that little exchange is as ridiculous as YT can get. There is a GREAT deal of fatuous, ignorant, mean-spirited commentary posted here quite frequently. YT comments can and DO get quite "hostile and dumb". That stated, let me simply point out, tovishal took what is basically a light-hearted, fun clip from a late night American gossip show, and turned it into an opportunity to attack US values and to laud the superiority of HIS (Middle Eastern, I'm guessing) "more evolved" culture. I probably should ignore such ignorance with the icy, silent contempt it deserves, but I confess, ever since 9-11 I just can't. I am so sick and tired of us (the US) being criticized in such fashion. Why would he even bother watching a clip of Johnny Carson if he feels this way? I certainly wouldn't choose to watch some Iman ranting about moral turpitude in the US. He watches it because we produce fun shows, because our celebrities are world famous, and because it's INTERESTING. Like it or not, the US has power and influence worldwide, particularly through our music, movies, TV, and entertainment industry. Tovishal displays envy and jealousy, and masks it with contempt. I call him out on it. (sorry, I didn't mean to run on, but I did want to justify my post. YOU, at least, seem reasonable and open, and I have no wish to be perceived as just another "hater" here on YT.)
This was her Papa Don't Preach and Who's That Girl look. The bleach blonde hair and heavy eyebrows. She was also very tone and I really think she looks stunning. This also resembles her True Blue album cover look. This phase lasted about 2 years . Then Like A Prayer came out and she had darker hair and kind of a new image. This woman has completely reinvented herself every few years but she can really pull off any look and that's the truth. I actually remember when this aired, I stayed up to watch it, I had just turned 14 and was obsessed with Madonna. This was when she was a little more subdued.

@journalistethics dotcom oh another idiot that believes nutty Internet stories about satanic cults and Madonna. OK. Got any proof, nut boy? Yes satanic cults exist in Hollywood, but hard to believe madonna was or is part of one. She adopted several kids from Africa to give them a better life and a bunch of other stuff for charities in her time. You she seems like a pretty down to earth, nice woman in many interviews when she drops the facade. Why on earth would she be in a satanic cult? What has it done for her? She's still aged like any one else would age. Still has the same human problems thst we all have. Can't see the benefit. Not only that, why on earth would the American law arrest her, execute her and then put an exact clone back in her place ? Lol That's the same as not killing her in the first place. What would be the point in any of that? And why would they execute her and not the other several thousand members in the cults? Hope you have some sensible answers for me .
