This album is demos that Steve Bray and Madonna did before she was famous. Many of the songs were polished and added to her first two albums. This particular song, the best on the pre-madonna album, was never used by Madonna after she hit it big in 1983.

I think this is arguably the highest quality song on Pre Madonna. It’s certainly the tightest pop song at the very least

It sounds SO good, and also it doesn't sound like it's a very old song (1979-1980), it sounds a bit newer. Up until the mid-80s most of the recordings (for every artist) sound so dated nowadays, for whatever reason, quite empty sometimes. This is one of the few exceptions imo.

Only Madonna can make a song about infidelity so cute, innocent and sexy at the same time! Obssesed with her early 80's demos

Huge early M fan here and this is one of my favorite songs of hers of alllllll time. super catchy and love her vocals here. LOVE IT.

I share your love of the early stuff - these demos, some of the album tracks and singles from the first two studio albums.

I've always wondered why this song never made the final track listing on her first album. Even though she wrote/sung/co-produced mostly new tracks for her first album they did include Burning Up even though this was a song she had performed with Emmy. ❤❤

Honestly because the 808 never went out of style commercially, nothing dates this song (like the Linn LM-1 or Oberheim DMX would) and it could have come out any time from 1980 to now honestly

Sounds a little like Elise Fiorello's "Who Found Who". Someone owes Stephen Bray some 💰
