well, "Rise" and "Faith" were added to their album "Circus" released in 2019! so, i mean, the two tracks are not entirely exclusive to Shield Hero (although this happens with a lot ov other J-Pop artists as well, not just MADKID)! "Circus" is an awesome album, imo, and so are MADKID! :)

@@ceciliaysimonamarillo1226 It's from the word "accelerator" (car pedal to speed the car forward) or "accelerate." MADKID sees their relationship with the fans like a car. MADKID are the drivers, the fans are the fuel. The car won't "accelerate" (to move/speed forward) without the fuel, so without the support of fans, MADKID won't be able to forward and reach their destination. They just stylized the spelling as "Axcel" on purpose to have some kind of ring to it. Also, MADKID has a name for the haters too.

@@Snulge The group has been together since 2014, but before that, all five of them have formal training in performing arts (ie. vocals, dance, song composition, etc.). Their dance may seem "lazy" because this is a dance edit video, so this is like dance practice to them. They're a lot stronger when they are doing live performances. There's fancams of them thar you can find on KZread. What sets J-Pop apart from K-Pop is that J-Pop groups do not have a set format unlike K-Pop groups. What I mean by this is that each J-Pop group has different concepts. For example, EXILE TRIBE groups and E-girls (just groups under the LDH agency in general) have at least 2 vocalists and the rest are strictly dancers, Chotokyuu/Bullet Train has a "back vocal" (vocalist whose position is behind or on the side during performance) and the rest of the group are dancers, FREAK is a all-vocal group and don't emphasize on dances, etc. The thing w/ a lot of K-Pop groups, even a lot of K-Pop fans know this, is that most of them lip sync on stage or on TV, which is why their dances seem to be more "dynamically perfect."
@aznmochibunny
5 жыл бұрын
@@Snulge Adding on to what @AXCEL STYLE said, it is most likely that many of the groups you saw are what are known as idol groups - groups who typically are in western media spotlight such as AKB48. Jpop groups don't require perfection and fans don't expect it either. Japanese fans prefer to see progress rather than see 100% perfection from the start.

@@Snulge First of all, MADKID is a self-produced group, meaning they do everything from composing and producing their own songs (and in some cases contribute songs to up and coming artists under the same agency as them), and they also create their own choreography (Shin (black hair) and Yuki (pink hair) would sometimes hold dance seminars at select performing arts schools in Japan when they do get invited), plus they don't aim to be "flashy" or to be compared to anything similar to other groups (esp. K-Pop groups). They're not backed up by some high-profile agency and all their promotions and marketing are heavily relied on their fans, word of mouth, and social media. As I mentioned before, there's no set standards in J-Pop, artists are open to create their own concepts and they don't rely on "group positions". J-Pop is very diverse, they don't stick to just one or a few genres, and they don't rely on visuals either, and that's what makes the genre as a whole unique. MADKID, as you know, is not a K-Pop boy group. They are not BTS or Seventeen or iKON and they shouldn't even be compared. There may be 3 vocalists and 2 rappers, but they can also be interchangeable depending on the the song and the performance (YOU-TA (red hair) can rap and both rappers can also sing). Their aim was to create music that's something fresh and new to the modern (?) Japanese ear, not to be "flashy." Personally, I prefer free-flowing dances just to see individual styles of each member yet blend together as a group at the same time. I personally find completely synchronized dancing boring, as it gets repetitive in every song or performance, I don't see any individuality among the members. The J-Pop definition of "idol" is completely different from K-Pop's definition of "idol." In J-Pop, idols are "manufactured," and they're more all-around (they act, host, model, public relations, not strict to just music and dance). Those who focus more on music and dance are considered as artists. MADKID is not considered an idol group, but a dance and vocal group. Maybe that's the reason why K-Pop artists have to work harder when they promote in Japan. If they want to be appealing to the Japanese music lover, they have to cater to what the Japanese public as a whole are used to.
@adriannechikawotablog5466

@@Snulge Japan has the 2nd biggest music industry in the world, right under America. There are so many companies and agencies in Japan, there is no "Big 3" or whatever in J-Pop if we're talking about talent management. Each company/agency has their own set regulations, but for the most part, they give their artists full creative freedom. LDH, for example, has their own training system known as EXPG (Exile Professional Gym), where their trainees are as young as 10-yrs-old. Once they are debuted into a group or a soloist, they're on their own (have to make their own choreography, have to write/compose/produce their own songs, etc.). And then there are prominent ones like Johnny's (male-only agency that produces male idols, been around since the 60s), UpFront Agency (female-only agency who produces idol girl groups like Morning Musume, Angerme, etc.), AKS (AKB48, Nogizaka46, and sister groups), Avex Academy (LDH is a subsidiary), Stardust Prmotion (Momoiro Clover, EBiDAN groups like Chotokyuu, Super Dragon, etc.), and other smaller agencies. MADKID is under SJP (Slow Jam Production), a very new agency (since 2017) that not only manages pop groups, but also manages different artists like singer-songwriters, hosts, choreographers, etc. Nippon Columbia, the record company MADKID is signed into, is the oldest record company in Japan (since early 1910s) and they are very selective with their talent. They signed MADKID because of their diverse musicianship, not because they look flashy or visually appealing. They're also the first boy group they signed to their label. J-Pop doesn't really care much about looks, they care more about talent and individual appeal to the masses (personality and attitude). Even the least visually appealing can be a lot more popular to the masses than someone with the visuals.
Amazing.
