I must have watched this 30 times over the last few weeks. Such a lovely recording of this song by Madison and Joey, they complement each other so well. I love Madison's subtle little fill-ins on guitar, and her knowing, smiling nod at the end, expressing a feeling of joy and satisfaction. For decades, Gram and Emmylou's version was my favorite, now this one is. Well done, both of you.

I was raised on Elvis and Everlys. This was perfection, simple perfection.

This is beyond great. This is musical perfection! The tightness and timing of the harmonies is fantastic! You should record a whole album of songs together.

Beautiful acoustic re-edition ! both were fantastic , i liked how the two voices were slightly different and harmonic to each other , but it was like a lullaby ...don't get me wrong , it was awesome but very soothing ! the story was delivered nicely but there was no vocal challenge !

After Gram and Emmylou, we're spoiled. I love Maddie, and all her friends.Their tone is perfect, the phrasing good, but the desperation isn't there. Its gotta hurt. On second listen, this reminds me of the version on Grievous Angel. Softer, sweeter. Sadder.

The guy is I think singing the Don part..but has Phil's hair, crazy! Actually, this is brill.

There is also Parsons and Harris country blue version of this song. Most people only know about the Nazareth version.

As far as covering the Everly Brothers is concerned this is perfect! If I only listened to the audio I might think it was indeed them. However, I do not agree with the content of the song. Does love hurt? Of course it can but it doesn't always and this song implies that it always HURTS. After many years of marriage I have realized that love does not have to hurt; you just have to realize that she is not your clone and never will be....just let her be her and you be you and love will last a long long time :)

This might be my favorite one yet and that’s saying a lot at this point! 😊
