Don't know why there's a thing in Hollywood called "women in film celebration" 🤨 women have been in movies for 100 years. Not a new concept. Weird.

Bro, the WIF organization has been in place for 50 years. It’s an annual presentation and tribute show for new faces and for older contemporaries to get their flowers. It’s kinda like an awareness event for gender equity in Hollywood. It has nothing to do with the concept of: ‘omg…we just realized just now…woman are in movies!? Wow 😜’ …no man lol

@@surette2012 actually Hollywood does seem to have that mindset these days. They treat every movie with a female lead like it's the first time. Just look at Disney or what Jennifer Lawrence said.

@@trevorthornley8835 well, we shouldn’t take Hollywood publicity and marketing tactics seriously. That’s all it is: marketing. They always write up movies in a hyperbolic say. They’ll push a movie with the whole “you’ve never seen a film like this” or “a female lead you’ve never seen before.” It’s just razzle dazzle. it’s to get butts in seats. They are hoping you have a short attention span and just take their word for it and be impressed. they don’t actually look at each other and say ‘wow…can you believe a woman was in this film? How novel. We were the first to do it. Amazing!’ You have to give grace and see the context: in the 100 years of film women didn’t get to have super dimensional and off coloured roles. They were always: damsels, hot props, trophies, femme fatales, old crones, b!tches. Little variation and it was an even dryer list for poc. You’d get a slave, hyper sexualized village girl, maid or nanny character. The WIF is established to reflect on the progress. The more varied roles, the more centred plots on female journeys. It’s an excuse to get out of the house and have a fancy event. It’s Hollywood.
hey can you post maggie lindemann’s livestreams aswell?? thank youu, sorry i dont mean to come of rude. jus a request ly 🫶
