In our second episode of Madhesh Pradesh, we leave Birgunj for Amlekhgunj. Although, it seems to be just another place on the highway, Amlekhganj holds a significant place in the history of the abolition of Slavery as well as the movement against the caste discrimination system highly prevalent just a few decades ago in Nepal.
The first night at Amlekhgunj is all about exploring the area. We enjoy the sekuwas and dhido at the famous 3 number Pul.
Parsa National Park was supposed to be our destination, but because of permit issues, we postponed it and traveled to Churia Mai instead. Just besides Churia Mai is also the first tunnel of Nepal. After Churia Mai, we go on a destination hunt for Ratanpur Jharana (waterfall). When we finally reached the waterfall, we were utterly disappointed but still, enjoyed the moment at its fullest.
We spend a short time in the Tamang village of Dambarpur and leave for Mainali Farmhouse Homestay with Samip as the sun goes down.

Tyaha jharana vayepani terai ma jharana dekhne chance ekdum kam cha. Baru Maha Gadhimai temple at Kalaiya, Thori to Chitwan jungleway ride, Badniharpur, dherai tharu community ko gaun cha tyaha janu vayeko vaye hunthyo.... Anyway nice to see this place....
