⁠@@fallenstar171 It was impressive/intense to watch unfold. Your eyes didn’t know where to look! 😮 Unfortunately, from our vantage point at CR7, we did not get to see the ones being launched from the waters due to the numerous cruise ships that were moored there. Next time we come, we will try to get a better (higher) vantage point. You do live on a magical island. We love it here and will definitely come back! The people are so friendly, the food is delicious and hiking offers, it seems, almost limitless possibilities. Added bonus: I absolutely LOVE driving on your winding roads

@@TaintedMango haha, true about the roads, whenever i go to another country and see a windy road i say a madeiran person must have designed it 🤣 One of the magical things for me is that you can see the fire from aaaaalmost the entire bay, so no matter who you are, as long as you are a island resident ofc, you prooooobably have a relative or a friend with a house in the bay and thus you can just go to theyr home, have a nice time together and enjoy the fire without the mess of the city center and the long trafic lines Just mind your self on the hikes, there dosent go a year without at least one incident of turists getting lost or purporselly deviating from the path and ending in a bad situation.... just use your common sense you should be fine, And YESSSSSS the food is one of my favourite things, i cant live without bolo do caco, sandes de carne vinho e alho, espetada, the broas, those treats flow trough my blood and i can never hold back from wanting to share them with everyone that never tryed before, just take it easy with the poncha too, its strong

@@TaintedMango its a small island, but still every place has a diferent feel, a unique landscape and view, comparing to the loooong continental lands at least, you dont have to go far to see something diferent and i love that Also on the subject of the fireworks, i reaaaally love the ending, i ak sure you did too, just the sky exploding in light and sound in such a intense and brutal way, the echo going back and forth, the fire is over but you still hear the ROAR for about 10 seconds more, its such a kick of adrenaline to start the new year in good shape 😄

⁠​⁠@@fallenstar171indeed, the fireworks finale was…intense! My ears are still ringing and I think I will need to wear sunglasses 😎permanently now. 😂 The landscape all over the island is spectacular. Yesterday, we hiked Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço. The scenery there was surreal! I felt like I was on another planet. No wonder they used that for a filming location. Oh and I agree totally about your food choices. 😊.

7:44 was insane. It was a thunderstorm going crazy. More insane than in tbe video. Thr sound and everything was more intense. I wish the camera could have captured that
