Madeira: Achadas da Cruz from Vereda da Ladeira

If you hike down after the cable car closes there won't be many people down there. Bring a headlamp & stay for sunset!

I hiked down to Achadas da Cruz twice, once form Vereda da Ladeira & then a few days later from the trail behind the cable car station. Neither hike is amazing but Vereda da Ladeira was my favorite of the two. Achadas da Cruz was amazing. The almost (but not quite) forgotten farms with the cliffs towering above. A steady and strong wind pushing in off the crashing ocean. Unlike any other hike I've ever done!

Not advisable to no one I was there with the right hiking boots and trekking poles but instead going in the cable car I did walk in the trail and my advice to anyone that never did any hiking in their lives not advisable to no one very danger the terrain is crumbling and falling a part and very slippery despite going very slow still still very slippery slope .
