MADE Show: Celebrating the Art of Framebuilding - Portland, Oregon - August 24-27, 2023
"MADE is a multi-day event dedicated to sharing stories of bike builders to the world. Spotlighting framebuilders and domestic production, MADE puts an emphasis on community and inclusivity. The event will feature consumer-facing days, as well as industry-only days for media meetings, content creation, and community building. Welcome to MADE." - made.bike
In this video, JOM & LGC (aka Lady Gravel Cyclist) provide extensive coverage of just about every gravel and road bike builder in attendance at the 2023 MADE show. Many thanks to every builder for their time, and sharing their beautiful bicycles with us. Also, a huge thank you to Billy and the crew of MADE for making everything you see, entirely possible.

That white rim brake road bike from Tomii Cycles was definitely my favorite of this group. Never heard of Tomii before but he does outstanding work!

Ti-Cycles looks like a way overlooked builder!! Looks like he even makes Ti forks, which everyone else just imports from china.

My favourite is Victoire. They have a level of customization for bikes and racks that is impressive, and practically unrivaled. Their finish is impeccable and they are masters of steel and brazing, particularly the cable entry and exit points. It must have taken a lot of effort and great cost to come all the way from France, but it is great to see them in the North American market.

For certain, Victoire, Battaglin, Twmpa, and others, made the flight across the pond at serious expense. I wish all of the builders much luck and prosperity!

Thanks for showing the White Industries booth. That new VBC Chainset in full silver should be a winner. I contacted them about a year ago about getting my hands on silver chainrings and they said they only come in black at the time. So I didn't buy them. But now I will be buying them to replace the Dura-Ace 9000 crankset. Bling for my bike, love it.

I ran out of time to cover No. 22, but covered them extensively earlier at this year's Sea Otter on video, and my long term review of the Drifter. If you search my channel, you should be able to find those videos. Thank you.

@@GHinWI Thank you. With 70+ builders captured on video, I figured alphabetical sorting was the best way to make it easier to view, edit (my part, haha), and so on. Myself and my partner aka Lady Gravel Cyclist (LGC) busted our arses for three days, capturing as much as we could.

Likely running 11 Speed Di2 rim brake shifters. You can mix and match the shifters in my experience, although a firmware upgrade may be needed.

the tomii white bike whats with the tube under the top tube is that just an old style trend of oversized air pumps? i don't know the purpose

  • @GravelCyclist

This is a traditional way of mounting a full-size frame pump. It was a pretty normal thing even up to the late 1990's on steel bikes.

  • @froseph85

It’s a traditional design for a portable air pump before they got miniaturized. Held in place with a brazed on pump peg. Pumps are often custom painted to match the bike. These days you really only see them on custom bikes in a more traditional design for touring, randonneuring, or other forms of long distance cycling.
