Made In Japan Boss Pedals That Are Still Affordable

Over the years many rare MIJ Boss pedals have exploded in value. As the prices of MIJ Boss pedals are on the way up, here are my choices for Made In Japan Boss pedals that are still affordable (as of 2020). Please discuss below, what pedals did I miss? What bargains did you pick up?

I was fortunate enough to pick up a Japanese CE-2 for 185AUD 10 months ago. It looked like someone bought it in 1983, put it in a drawer, opened the drawer in 2019 and said "I just might sell this thing." It was absolutely pristine.

I don’t think they’ll make anymore new compact pedals unless they’re digital upgrade or Waza. I think I’ve 60 now. I have all the units in this video except the DF-2 Feedbacker. I lived in Oz in 1997 and I found a SG-1 Slow Gear in a Cash Converters store for 35Aus, £20 at the time and after trying to demo it I left it there as I thought it was useless! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

I flew in late January and hit Sydney for 2 days and then on to Adelaide for 2 months, then Melbourne for 8 months and back to Adelaide for Christmas. That’s when I found the SG-1 at Port Adelaide!

Great vid! I love feedbacker pedals. I have the DOD Freqout. I love old Boss for nostalgia reasons but the distortions are a bit fizzy.

I totally agree, generally they have too much fizz. I proffer their modulation effects.

@@JasonAyalaSpare that's awesome. I actually work for Boss/Roland (more on the retail side tho). But if you ever wanna chat about gear, pleases let me know. I'll hit up your Instagram too if you've got any gear pics. I just got an HR-2 HARMONIST that I'm falling in love with.

I actually own a Touch Wah (TW-1) but not with the T-Wah logo(the logo is Touch Wah (TW-1) from March/79' with a stamped serial number and all. i never knew how rare or special it was now 20years later after "borrowing" it. FANTASTIC "Auto-Wah"
