I loved that they didn’t try to dress like or look like Freddie or the rest of Queen even though they didn’t try to change the song very much. It was a true tribute while making it their own. They certainly paid homage to the video with the flashlights. Very clever way to show the up lighting from that section of the original. Best praise ever - Brian May tweeted the Pentatonix video and said check this out or something like like. Doesn’t get better than that ✌️💚

It still boggles my mind at how incredible Avi is with his rock bass riffs. If you listen closely during the part after the opera part you can hear his incredible rock bass riffs. It really moves the song into the next level. And Kevin throughout the entire piece is out of this world. I still can't believe they didn't win a Grammy for this.

You'd probably enjoy their "Behind the scenes" video of when they shot this. It was actually filmed outdoors on a country road and it was chilly (you can see their breath fog in some of the shots). Kevin fell off the motorized couch in one of the outtakes.

Great reaction! This song was my very first experience listening to and watching PTX. I wasn't even watching it for me, I was showing my daughter who is a HUGE Queen fan, and I'm the one who became completely sucked into being a Pentaholic! Not to mention falling completely in love with Mitch and his voice! I'm sure you've already had most songs suggested, but 2 of my favorites are Love Again and Sing (both original upbeat songs), and also Say Something and Problem. Anything off of The Lucky Ones album will also be fire. Can't wait to see more! I LIVE for PTX reactions!

The megaphone is just a prop, that is all Mitch, when they do this in concert he does not have a megaphone, just his microphone. As for the couch, that is a call back to their beginnings. If you watch their very old videos from before they became famous and they had no real budget to work with, it is the five of them sitting on a couch with Avi and Kevin sitting on the cushions and Mitch, Scott and Kirsten sitting on the back of the couch singing and recording songs.

Their journey, post SingOff, began on the couch and they have traveled far since. To me the moving couch represents how far they have gone and how they return to their roots when needed.

I've heard that Mitch saw the megaphone lying around on the set and thought it would be a cool prop, so he used it that way on the spur of the moment, and it's been confusing people ever since.

As already noted, the couch is taking them on a trip down Memory Lane; that's why it had to move. There's a Behind the Scenes video for this; you might enjoy watching it. When they motorized the couch they also managed to destabilize it; the couch spent the entire filming session trying to fall over into a stable position, which resulted in a few bruises for Pentatonix. Once you get past the moving couch, the symbolism in this video all has to do with Queen. The starry night sky (during Mitch's second guitar solo) is meant to honor Brian May, who has a doctorate in Astrophyics. The four shooting stars are for the four members of Queen. And when the camera pans down from the night sky to show them lying on the couch, the picture is meant to reference the cover art for Queen's _Sheer Heart Attack_ album.

The shot of the night sky at the end with all the stars is a nod to Queen guitarist Brian May, who after Queen, went back to school and got a PhD in astrophysics. Neat, huh?

Brian may lead guitarist is actually doctor Brian may. He is an Astro physicist. The scene when they are showing the night sky with the shooting stars is paying homage to the fact that Brian may is an astrophysicists. I always wondered why there were only 4 shooting stars not 5 because there are 5 people in Pentatonix. Then I read a comment That said the night sky was homage to Brian may Then the 4 shooting stars made sense to me. There are 4 members in queen. Brian may So enjoyed this that he posted it on all his media sites. The couch is paying homage to how they 1st started. After they won the sing off in 2011 which included a record contract The label dropped them so they started to do their own videos Which always had them sitting on a couch With a camera pointed at them and Then do the song and posted it to KZread. Mitch has been releasing his own music under the name of Messer there is the machine and Angels pray. Under his own name is his cover of Billie eilish you're power. Kevin plays Cello saxophone And keyboard. If you watch his Cover of Marion hills down you'll see just how talented he is. He does play the cello in some of The videos. He will also occasionally sing. Fun fact Kevin did not know he could sing when he joined Pentatonix. Obv who is classically trained Taught him how to Sing. When Avi left in 2017 under good terms he pursued his own career. Nice reaction! You would really enjoy the video of them filming this. They did it overnight when it was very cold. Imagine trying to stand on a moving couch in high heels or balance on the arm or top of the couch and still do this song as well as they did.

I remember how much this blew my mind the first time I saw it. It was the same feeling I got when I was 11 years old and the Queen original first came out!

Brian May posted this on his social media accounts. All he said was 'Enjoy'. We call it the Grassi Guitar. He does it without the megaphone when doing it live. I heard in live, as their encore, at their Christmas show in 2018 and it sounded virtually the same. It was EPIC! I think they only used the megaphone in the video so it would be obvious who was doing the sound.

It is not Mitch and the Mitchettes (and I love Mitch too) so it is always a shared performance since the are all immensely talented.

1st I have seen a video of this performed live. Mitch doesn't need the megaphone. He can do that with just his voice. 2nd Brian May of Queen has a link to this cover on his social media site. Pretty high praise, if you ask me. Thank you. Hope and joy to all.

You're not the first person that has said you recognized a little twangy in their voice. I've really never noticed I guess that's because I'm also from Texas about 30 minutes from Arlington! So I find it funny how people pick up on a little thing like that.
