This was the 1st 3D Madden. If you grew up in that era, this was revolutionary

Thanks for the comment! Nailed it! For me, I had only played NFL games on the SNES before this. I wasn’t even aware of what the PlayStation and Saturn versions looked like until years later. But yeah. It was really something special to see.- Danny

It had 63 bears with Butkus.I still play these old Maddens all the time.Good review man.

Thanks for the comment, John! Yoooooo! I love the fact that they had all of those classic teams available from the start. EA stopped doing that from Madden 2000, which was pretty annoying. Sure, in that game you could unlock the classic teams, but why not just make them available from the start?! Anyway, thanks again! - Danny

The first person mode is pretty cool, sometimes games have that in photo or replay mode but for actual real time gameplay is neat.

I'm late af but if you rotate the joystick in a circular motion while running the ball defenders will dive and miss the tackle. Takes practice/timing but I had insane running stats. It was basically a glitch I figured out.

I did the same keeping track of seasons on Madden 95😂

The snow is better in this game than in Madden 23, 22, 21, 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, etc.

I remember this for its first person mode specifically. As the En Six duce plus duce was the first person gaming platform of its generation. Too bad it was dumb as hell and you couldn't even pull out a gun and start blasting on people like the beginning of some movie I saw back in the day. Imagine though, how inappropriate that would have been.... press z to pull out firearm. Hold z and a then press up c to comment suicide.

On Game day for the psx you could injure your self by spamming the jump button. Specifically your groin muscle and that's pretty much the same thing as pilling out a gun, if were being stupid about things...

Lolol! I didn’t know that about Game Day. My brother had Game Day 99 back in the day and the thing I remember the most was the commentator trolling you on a dropped pass. “He caught it!...oh no he dropped it! Oh, my!” - Danny

Well, they tried something similar back in 2008 or so using NFL hall of famers. It did not sell well. But, they do have the go ahead to make a “non simulation style” football game using the NFL license. As of now, there’s no info about what they’re doing 😭 - Danny

@@TheFamicast 2007-08 had a different market then. Madden was bad but not like it is today. If APF2K8 was released today for PS 4 and PS5, it would sell much better probably not outperforming Madden sales but it would be enough competition to get EA to step their game up. Many gamers in the Madden community anticipate that 2k will develop something like WWE 2K Battlegrounds. I think it would be a mistake. They should attempt to develop something like APF2K8 or something like Madden 64.

@@EriGadi The main issue was PS2 was still somewhat relevant especially for sports games in 2007 (Madden 08 on the system is widely considered the best Madden ever made) and they decided to make it next gen only which hurt sales

This game gets shit on too much. It wasnt bad at all
