Sharing a #rare recording of the first time Madam Noor Jehan sung ‘Mujhse Pehli Si Mohabbat’ in public.
I’m sure we have all heard the story of how Madam Noor Jehan wanted to sing ‘Mujhse Pehli Si Mohabbat’ at a #MuhammadAliJinnah Charity function and was told by the organisers that she wouldn’t be able to sing it - but she sang it anyway 😊
Please hear Madam Noor Jehan speak about that incident to Mahmood Jamal, followed by the actual live recording of her singing the poem at the event and the audience’s reaction. As Madam has said, this was around 1955/1956 and she composed the tune herself.

The whole world knows Faiz and Madam Noor Jahan and they will be remembered forever but those Generals blocking his poem and her singing are dust now. No one even knows their names. The serving Generals should learn something from this and start behaving.

Yes is the original tune and the first time she ever sung this in public. The recording is from the Jinnah charity show that she is speaking about
