Small detail i like, he kept eye contact proving he could draw them all just off memory, hinting as to some of the shit hes been in, assuming the awe of the others was partially do to that not just the amount, the item in his mouth was to keep attention on his face so theyd notice aswell. More of a flex than the weapons as to him stating who or what he is, and by leaving the weapons sorta says he doesn't need them, most collected along the way anyway right?so hes good at psychological combat as well. Humans have a tendency to show off, subtle ways are the best.

It's the thing I had to keep reminding myself, that the MM setting was post-Apocalyptic, yes, but same-generation. So Max, Auntie and others of that generation still remember what it was like before, it's only the children that see the pre-collapse world as legendary.

Bartertown and how it works and its social structure and architecture and everything was the most interesting part of this movie, wish they had done much more with it. I'd be interested in a fictional documentary just on Bartertown.

Well from outward appearances Bartertown uses a Roman style gladiator combat system to settle disputes, but it’s more based on the philosopher, Kant's Utilitarian Logic, that it's better to kill, and punish a few people to prevent lawlessness, and death from escalating to claiming a lot more lives. I would have liked to seen more of a backstory explained about how Aunty Entity, and her warriors, and merchants put the place together. But, it is implied in Mad Max: The Road Warrior that a lot of the former cops joined the gangs wandering, and killing for gas based on the vehicles, and some of the stuff they were wearing in the prior film. So, maybe that way of life couldn't be sustained, thus some of the gangs organized, and got Bartertown started somehow.

Even though for the longest time my favorite Mad Max plot was from Road Warrior, I now actually like the one in Thunderdome the best, where Max is used as a pawn in a government coup during an internal power struggle. The movie itself wasn't the best one of the franchise to IMO, even though it had some merit, but the plot was still a unique one. My take on it anyway.

Its a necessary movie in the series. Mm1 and mm2 were full-on real world chaos with murder and rape. This one is more light hearted as society is piecing itself back together. Alot of the story is tied together with this one. It seems max was 2 people. In mm2 he was almost feral and was max the wanderer. In mm3 he slowly becomes rocketansky again.

I'll bet that the character of Gizmo in Fallout 1 was based on the fat guy at the entry of Bartertown. And the Mauser pistol (not sure but it looks like one) was also used in Fallout 1 as a unique gun. You could pick it up from Gizmo's dead body.

So cool that we could easily rent most movies on videotape by then (1985) instead of waiting for a TV channel to edit it , cleaned-up for family viewing as network television operated in the 1970s and beyond. I made a copy of the rental for my own collection and watched it over and over.... Today I have a digitized copy, but I still can play back the entire movie in my head even today. So awesome. Tina made it twice as good.

I saw that the man behind the weapons window slid out what looked like a chit or some sort of metal ticket to show or identify Max could reclaim his weapons when he left Bartertown. Yet he never picked up the chit. Plus there were a lot of them on the wood counter when Max turned and walked away. So maybe he would not know which one to grab. Yes, I know it's a movie so suspension of disbelief and all that jazz, all that cal. Small thing yet still a cool film.

If I remember correctly between each film, Max obtains the V8 interceptor on a quest for revenge, has it again in road warrior, loses it prior to Thunderdome yet acquires an arsenal of weapons, only to lose them; then reacquires the V8 in fury road only to lose it again at the start. There has got to be like 20 adventures we never get to see in all the timeline. (yes I understand the theory that mad max is a title of a lone warrior/wanderer of sorts and can be anyone) but for the sake of progression there are many many unanswered questions as well as stories that can be told.

I highly recommend the Mad Max game. It does very well to add to his story and see what happens outside the movies.

The V8 Interceptor was completely destroyed in Mad Max 2 which is why he doesn't have it in Thunderdome. Fury Road probably takes place somewhere between Mad Max 1 and 2.

@@SuperKratosgamer OK, I'm not being confrontational here. Where would you put Fury Road in the timeline? Is Max now a usurper of the title or a fraud? In this world there is a man who drives a distinct car, and is cynical; gasoline is truly a luxury and the world is a desert waste. He is haunted by his past...alas...Mad Max

Radioactive Water Guy is so confusing.... - How was he not rotting from being unprotected around water so hot it nearly broke the geiger counter ? - What wouldve stopped max from just using one of his shotguns on the guy who was peddling around murdering people with his Fallout-Aide? Who wouldve even looked twice at him, esp if he couldve easily and quickly proven that the guy was selling deadly water?
