Cracking job Paul, got to admit I've been around heavy haul trucks the vast majority of my life, both Military and Civilian, and that's the first truck I've seen with a two part chassis rail, was it originally built that way, granted my experience is all British and European, but I'm really enjoying watching this truck come together, what are you going to name her, keep up the great work Brother. 🇬🇧

I knew a guy over in white Haven that bought 2 of them new and they were alum. He had great luck with those trucks, but for some reason, the right wiper inner and outer brackets kept breaking off. He said he finally put complete new units from those big cabover Fords on as replacements and they worked. Bill @@BigPaulsTrucking

You are getting those burns from not using lubricant with the annular cutter. It will help to extend the life of the cutter also. Use lube!!! Don’t hammer those bolts into the holes. You are damaging the pitch on the thread. Use the cantering punches to line up a couple holes then use the clamps when the holes are lined up properly. You don’t want to damage those threads. Before mounting the rear ends to the frame you should sandblast and then prime the bogies first.

I use a copper coating anti corrosion product that I think is from Permatex. They have different formulations. Absolutely nothing goes back together until i coat the bolt thread with this product. Never used the Fluid Film on bolts before.

Can you share what tool it was that you used to find the center of the holes transferring them from the old frame rail to the new one before drilling?
@BigPaulsTrucking

Yes I would love to. They are called Transfer punches. I have a large set 3/16-- 1in. So if it’s a 1/2 in hole it fills the hole and has a center punch. Can’t miss.

@@BigPaulsTrucking thank you very much. I appreciate your response. I always put a piece of plastic air line in the hole and then center punched and hoped for the best.
